2010 mazda 5 sport
what's up everyone, new here, sorry if this was asked before but i haven't had any luck. i need help on running new speaker wire through front doors of my mazda 5 sport, trying to finish my set up. I bought the LC6i and have it running my JLs and want to run my new speakers that i just replaced as well,my rear speakers are done, just need to finish fronts so i can hook them all up to my amp.
thanks in advance for any help

I've always used a long section of wire, taped it to the stock wiring, then pulled it back through the door grommet- that or a coat hanger bent into a hook with a bunch of tape to serve the same purpose. I haven't done it on a 5 yet, but it's worked on every other car that I've run new wires into the doors on.

I tried ( Steve Milton told me that as well )but plastic caps are blocking the path.can I drill a hole through that and run wire through hole? Has anyone done that and have any tips to make it easier..
Thanks

Depending on where the caps are, yes you can drill through them- just make sure to seal them up with some silicon (or other outdoor high temp sealant) and/or some rubber grommets.

Mo' powa! Seriously, I think the OP want to run some high power mids or mini-subs in the doors.?. It sounds like he is using the stock HU but I'm not sure why he'd put the money into the line level converter when it would be better (IMHO) to just get an aftermarket HU. I'm not a big audiophile so (shrugg).

Why would one install new speaker wires?

Yup, more power, cleaner sound.... you don't need to go crazy, but I usually run at least 16 gauge wire new into all the doors. I laid down over 150 feet of new wire in my crew cab pickup- and the cabin in one of those is smaller (shorter) than your typical sedan. That was running two pairs of wires into each front door, one pair into each rear door, two amps, sub, and power distribution. New wire helps for higher power, especially compared to the stuff that the factory sometimes stuffs into a car. I hate using chains of plug adapters too.

i was told by crutchfield that its not possible to change head unit cause of my climate controls..so i bought the LC6i..got new speakers in, but cann't get new wires through front doors, plastic clip in the way..

crutchfield told me not possible cause of my digital climate controls..so got a line level converter ( LC6i ) or i would of changed my HU, cause stock sucks badddd..

The stock HU does not control the climate control. What you do lose is the digital display which shows HU playback info -become blank. The climate control portion and the clock display are not affected. If you think about it, do you think manufactures would integrate climate control into the radio or vice versa (might be a bad question since they do try to integration everything to cut cost)? HU’s are always outsourced to some audio OEM manufacturer but built to Mazda sepcs and runs independently from other systems. Many here changed OEM units. Did a crutchfield tech tell you this?

I replaced the radio on my 2010 using the Sosche dash kit and harness. It sounds great even on the stock speakers. I haven't looked on my 5 yet, but some cars use those molex plugs for connecting the wiring. If ours has this, it is more difficult, but can be done. You just have to find the empty spaces and drill the. Out and run the wires through. I had to do this on one of my old Vdubs.

Here is a quick pic of my setup just to show you it can be done easily. I had an old radio laying in the basement and I hated the stock radio. I painted the dash kit and wrapped everything to complement my color scheme for the shows. I am saving up to get a double din dvd unit to run the flip down I installed(which currently runs off of the iPod).

@qcoffey

looks nice, wish i new all this info before buying the LC6i... yeah i installed new wires all over my 5, but the molex plugs are a b____ ( for me anyway, never done that before )..i tried a few car audio shops for some help on just drilling me a hole, want to charge me full price, for me not worth it..someday maybe i'll get it done somehow or just sell my Rockford Fosgate PBR300x4 and just run subs..i myself want a double din dvd player installed, miss mine, had to sell it since it didn't fit my 5..
