What have you done to your MSP today?

You really don't need a boost controller unless you have a lot of mods to go with it. I had a Greddy EBC and it is really nice, but really expensive. I didn't use it that much and the most I boosted with it was 9 psi... which is only 2 psi over the stock wastegate. So yea it's pretty pointless to get one unless you have a built motor or awesome tune.

I agree there is no need for a boost controller. I have an EBC and I pretty much use it as a boost gauge and to tune the boost levels but not raise them very much. I really only got it because it was a good deal.

Yay thermostat broke! 45 min later and we are all good.
I went with the 180* anyone tried and liked a 170* ?
Put a stock 195 back in it, if you have too low of a temperature on the thermostat the car will never reach operating temp and the ECU will cause the car to run even MORE rich.

So it would be pointless to bring up the boost and just leave it as stock ? Stock is what 7? So unless I tune the s*** out of it, get new / better cams, pistons. Etc .....

Well every car is different so you can't really put a set number on it. Stock wastegate can be anywhere from 5.5 to 8 psi IIRC. The ATP replacement is around 6-8 according to atpturbo.com and it has worked pretty well for me since I had it installed about 2 years ago I would guess. On a stock block, I would not recommend boosting more than 9psi for a DD unless you have a built motor or at the least a very conservative tune. I have not used meth injection but the guys here that do will tell you that it can allow for 12-14psi on the stock turbo (though our turbo is only good up to that) and you need to keep an eye on the tank as well as the nozzle under the hood. If you buy a cheap kit they can be prone to breaking, much like any other cheap car part.

So coming from someone who needs this car as a daily and still wants to have fun: tune it for 9psi max and leave it.

So all the stock westgates aren't the same lol mine is my daily driver as well, I was gunna just bring it up to 8psi for a little more boost , since I finally got the FMI all set up now and ordered my wideband gauge so once that gets here, all my gauges are going in as well ... Would upgrading rue westgate be a posible good idea as well maybe, or dnt bother ..?

Just went to auto zone to order spark plugs, their vender was out of them so I couldn't even order some, stupid ! And they charge $65 for universal slim fans HA !

Don't blown that spicy up before you get my Haltech ;)

I also suggest a turbo xs knocklight to alert you of any knock to hold you together when you do up the boost.

So considering I don't have grinding issues, is it worth it to get new selector hubs or just synchro/bearings/seals? Ill probably be throwing in gtx 3rd and 5th too.

I graduate college in may, and I think I am going to start putting the protege back to stock. After I get it back to stock I am going to sell it.
