Figure that this can serve as a place to post pictures and videos from Autocross...
So feel Free!

ANYWAY:
Went to my 2nd Autox in the Dixie Region today in my Mazda2... got 2nd place in Novice class, behind a Roush Mustang... so I don't feel i did too bad! Mods are Racing Beat Springs, Sways, and a Urethane Rear Motor Mount. Still on stock All-seasons.

A little three-wheelin!...

Nice. So you're a fan of the racing beat springs? I wish they had like a quarter inch more drop... I just can't stand the wheel gap on mine.

Yeah I like em. I wish that I had shocks to go along with them, but Im sure thats in the future.
I actually like the height, because I dont feel I am compromising ground clearance for performance; I can take speedbumps, steep driveways, and dirt roads without being concerned about scraping. But, I'm not concerned with looks at all.

That course in your video looks fun and pretty high speed. How did you do against other cars outside of the novice class?

I dont feel i did bad for my 2nd time... I am eating up my stock All-Seasons though, I should have some nice new stickier tires by next autocross...

I've never autox'ed at a course that starts with a slalom. Pretty cool. That's not a bad result for your second time out, and on the stock tires at that!!

34 Ford???

My friend Glen brought his 46 Plymouth to one of our events.

It does have a Vette chassis, with a supercharged LT1.

On topic there is a big autocross tomorrow at Michelins proving grounds in Laurens SC, but I am taking the miata. Just put a front sway bar on it. I will hopefully be autocrossing the 2 with Clemson within 3 weeks though. My camera will be with me.

Ill be at my last event for the year at a deserted mall no less in the middle of nowhere (tiffin ohio) on sunday....might be raining again we will see...either way I got another droidx camera mount so there will be video again.

I have an Autocross tomorrow, I will mount up the video camera and shoot the runs and post them up.

I let one of our better drivers codrive at yesterday's event... it was in a dead mall parking lot and after the fastest straight there was a cold patched concrete area that no matter how you swept it it was basically like driving on gravel...everyone spun it once...this was his final run and he ended up spinning it...BUT...he also ended up beating a TON of great cars and was a full second faster than me and came in 8th overall while I came in 23rd I think (out of 52). He pokes a little fun at the 2 at the start so listen in before takeoff.

it was pretty tight but there were some faster parts to it. We usually have one "mall" autocross after nationals to get new members and attention. Usually theyre at airports or massive factory parking lots...I cant hit up the last event this year so this was my last hoorah this year. Next year may bring springs and koni's ....but the way I operate by the time I save up 500 bucks...Ill be looking at my dash wishing it was there was an android blutooth 7" screen there.

Just did a 28/52 in PAX! Happy! Lots of fun and I left some 2 seconds on the table.
Next Sunday I will do it again. Heehee, too much fun. I invited 2 coworkers, one with a GTO and another with a G8. I will spank them both!
Stay tuned for more Autocross action.

This is a video from the last td I attended.The car was much faster and improoved the best lap by 1" because of new tyres and better brake pads.
It could do even better if I hadn't destroyed the front alignment the day before, when I installed my diy lower strut.
The Swift in front of me is very well tuned (140+hp,17' rally tyres,full chassis struts,better pads,etc) and driven by a very good driver.It lapped 1" faster than me.
At the end you can see the results of the bad alignment..!

Lots of good recoveries;
Good down-shifts;
Need to drive your own line instead of chasing faster cars (I do this all the time, I call it getting sucked in);
Looks like lots of fun! Keep it up and keep posting, I enjoy this kind of stuff!

My first video

This is a video of my car driven by an instructor at Fort Myers this weekend. A 78 seconds course, very fast, up to third gear in two segments.
