i was bored so decided to polish it a bit so that it looks a bit better in the engine bay

testing to see if the cast aluminum would polish to my standards
IMG-20111218-00339.jpg

since im adding boost to a auto-rans a larger trans cooler was needed

IMG-20111220-00362.jpg

first time it was mounted to make sure the plate worked and to check clearance and mark the holes that needed to be cut for the IC

IMG-20120105-00419.jpg

cut the crash bar so that the IC fits in the lower grill opening better

IMG-20120107-00428.jpg

test fitting the header clearances with the SC

IMG-20120110-00438.jpg

You Canadians sure know how to build protege5's. I'm incredibly jealous. It must show because, for some reason, I had a dream two nights ago that Brian was holding some awesome Mazda meet at his house. People were driving from all over the US on up to Canada for the meet. Brian lived in some awesome Cabin/mansion out in the woods. It was great, wish that really happened.

not too sure what to say about you dreaming cars and Brian.... ;)

but i know the only reason i have the car i do is cause if the long winters and the fact the car is in the garage and i get bored easily.. Winter just means car modding time for me and iirc Brian feels the same way about the cold winters. 17 days till spring...

For one, I rarely remember my dreams. When I say rarely, I mean maybe once a month lol. Even when I remember my dreams, they aren't very inventive, mostly with people I know, at places I spend a lot of time at, doing normal things. This was definitely I stretch of imagination. Not quite sure why Brian was the center of attention, guess that's dream logic for you.

As far as modding goes, I completely understand the reasoning behind it. Unfortunately, I drive my car all day, every day. I have a house that needs a lot of money put into it so all modification done to my car must be budgeted and tasteful. I wish I had the time and money because I would give this car the love it deserves, and not the weird Dream Brian love you are thinking about(blarf)

First of all, Thank you for using the term "header" and not plural on a 4 cylinder. lulz.

Looking really good, man. Please please please get some video when the SC is in and tuned. I'mstill mad at Cres for not getting any. haha. Great job so far and keep up the good work. I can't wait to see the finished catch cans Signature is making.

thanks Evan, and you'll have all kinds of videos both during tuning and once its done. GoPros are cheap and ever car enthusiast should have one to use.

haha its all good, i know what you meant about the dream and the fact it was not about any specific person. as far as modding goes i know i have been at this for what seems like forever and just started to feel good about the way this car is going. it takes a long time unless you have someone else paying or deep pockets. take you time and do things right the first time and you'll get your car to where you want it to be.

Oh yeah, I've had the car going on 1.5 years. I received it no only stock, but slightly sub-par on condition so I've poured a lot of money into making it decent. I've spent over $7k and it seems like I haven't gone far. I realized this will be a slow, tedious process. It's just nice seeing cars like yours and Brian's. Seeing more of a finished product give me hope and helps me endure the time until I get closer to my goal. I will feel a lot better about it once I get my new bumper painted and installed, then lower the car. Next weekend I will be getting my stuff to drop the car. I should be ready for paint this month too.

Thanks for the inspiration and good luck on future mods. I'm looking forward to the outcome :D
