NEMOC Random BS Thread

I dunno... my car sat for 4 months while I was overseas, come home, it runs like s***. It continues to run like s*** for this whole past year, I sent the ECU out with no idea when it will come back, or what the prognosis is. I'm still paying on it, still paying full coverage insurance on it, but I still dig it. It's one of those things where I know that when I have it back, it will be awesome, and that's what I look forward to. I've been waiting well over a year to drive this car again.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. But of course, I'm telling everyone NOT to buy MSM's.

You do have a point, I guess.

Perhaps that explains my recent desire to look for another Alfa eh?

Phixed for you Fen....

You do have a point with Mazdas. lol.

LOL. A pet peeve. I've had experience with a number of them and love the cars to death. Unfortunately, the death is usually a few days away.

and people say they have poor reliability.. I beg to differ. they break down reliably :P

Take a look. Also, there's something in there that's also worth checking out.

Checked it out and willing to donate. Just hope I don't have to have Facebook to do it.

Snow here today. About 4-5 inches. Supposed to rain tomorrow and Saturday. What a mess.

As for news, Mary and I put a down payment on this.

Nice Bruce! Where is your first destination? My former boss called me a couple of weeks ago (retired 10yrs ago and promptly moved from PA to ME) and just bought a '92 RV with 3x,xxx miles, new tires and maintained very well. They are heading to San Francisco this summer to visit his son as well as his buddines from the Navy.

Thankfully passed inspection yesterday. Was freaking out momentarily because she tossed a Cat efficiency code a few weeks ago and I wasn't sure if the ECU would ready itself out in time for emissions.

Been busy lately and thus haven't been able to poke my head in here much as of late. Think the last time I saw people was the car show in Boston.

Looking forward to a good Spring / Summer and definately looking to road trip for some of the Grand-Am corrals.

What's up Phen! Say hi to Fez next time you see him.

That's awesome Bruce!

Thanks Josh.

Actually, I'm selling the right car. The 6 is paid for and I have fallen out of love with the Miata. I have just moved on.....

Lol ok. Young guy single and you're getting rid of the sports car and keeping the sedan.

Well it's going to be a game changer for us. We are going to live it in full time. 6 months here and 6 months travelling.

We have tossed aside the idea of buying a house for now. Plan is to do this for 2-3 years and see how it goes. Will be towing the miata behind when we go down south. We figure with our investment money and and working min wage jobs for 6 months we can swing this. Kids are done with college and they're on their own.

1st winter destination is Florida. Pensacola, Daytona, and then up to Myrtle Beach SC for March/April and come back in the spring.

Still some details to work out but Mary and I figure we are not getting any younger and have been wanting to do this for sometime.

The saga will continue.

Damn, sounds like fun Bruce! Hope it works out as planned for you and Mary. And if you should find yourself in the Easton PA area, give me a shout. Had to lol at your comment for Chris and car decision. Our daughter turns 16 next June and seeing that I would get diddly squat for the P5 on a trade, the current plan (if finances are in order) is to give her the P5 and I'll pick up a new/used dd. I've been looking at the Mazda2 (maybe 2 small) and the Skyactiv3 (can't beat the zoom-zoom + 40mpg for the commute). But haven't ruled out buying a nice NA or NB. Tam has always said it isn't a 'practical' second car for the fam but seeing that it would be a 'third' car, she's warming up to the idea.

Hey Mark, finally got that hatch light installed today...lol Took advantage of the warmer weather seeing that I had to rip the hatch apart to get to the connectors. The shop that fixed the car after my accident zip tied them to the wiring harness for the tail light. Oh yeah, didn't realize you were using a red bulb until I plugged it in and turned it on.

Hey guys... it's been a while. I started a new job in the middle of January (can't remember if I mentioned that), good pay bump and really close to home (9 miles away). I qualified for lasik a couple weeks ago and got it done on Thursday. Pretty crazy going from seeing 4 inches in front of my face to seeing the alarm clock in the middle of the night.

Since the weather has been so nice, the 8 has been out a bunch this year already. She'll be paid off soon which will be awesome for reducing the insurance for winter storage (as long as winter exists). I'll be keeping a look out for a spring clean meet!!

Thanks guys. Looking forward to it. Will let you know.

Congrats on the new job and eyes. Help you see those balls better.
