- Audi A6 Door Handles on a P5

see this response

Why do you want to mount parts from other cars that are basically incompatible with the P5? I know it might seem cool, but it would be a TON of work. Not worth it IMO. If no one on here has done it, it's probably not worth doing.

of course they will work, any part from any car will work on a P5, with TIME, MONEY, and a good FABRICATOR

That's what makes it better Mazda Speeder you guys felt the Same way 4 months ago when i was looking for the Fog Lights and most of you guys would always complain saying oh they dont make them any more oh by over lays instead and all that Junk. I got the real deal. I proved you guys wrong that they did make the Fogs and i found a good pair FROM Delta and with some Fabrication i made them work. So that's why im going for this Mod with the Audi Door Handles. Im glad that you like how cool it would look but it goes beyond that! It's about the Hard work and dedication that i put into it that counts and anybody else that does the same knows where im coming from. Right FRESCO? (breakn)

I appreciate the Support Fresco this will probably be one of the biggest Mods Cosmetically that i would invest into this car. But i have to wait for now

have you looked into what it would cost to blend the paint again? the metal work/time and can the door handles be swapped into our doors without looking weird? I know door handles are swapped all the time in mini trucking for newer flusher handles, but the amount of work involved to make it look right would scare most people.

it's your car, do what you want. The audi door handles will work...if you know how to, or pay someone to do body work. You can put any handles you want on your car but only protege handles will work without modifacation. That probably goes for any other exterior modding questions you may have. Good luck with your modding.

Most important of all...show pics if you do it!

Whatever you say...my question is, why are you asking? No one has done it, so why ask if anyone knows if it will fit. I could ask if a Coyote 5.0L would fit rear-engined in the P5. The answer is the same...anything is possible, but work vs reward makes it seem a little ridiculous.

By the way, I didn't "feel the same way" 4 months ago...you whined about how overlays sucked despite hearing the opposite from a number of people, then found some yellow fogs. There's not really any hard work in that, just internet searching and a bit of bracket fabrication. To replace door handles would be a sufficiently more involved, expensive and difficult task.

Why am i asking? Because im sure there's some one out there that has done it lol! I don't think that's fair to say that no one has done it because im sure some one has. Plus I don't know if any one has done it on here that's why i asked lol! So if not here then perhaps some one has done it some where else (boom06)
Im sure there's a lot of work involved but i have experience with Body work so that's why im going to do a Mod like this. Hey if you and the majority of Mazda's 247 like Yellow Overlays instead of the the real yellow fogs than that's great but the real Yellow Fogs are ten times brighter than Overlays on any given day!
In the end the Hard work that one has accomplished makes it rewarding but unfortunately most people on this forum just want the easy way out with that Plug and play stuff and hey that's fine if you like mindless work. I just like something more unique and different with a little challenge.

Yes i have BIking Pro5 i got a quote for like $450.00 for all 4 doors which isnt that bad that's the install and body work and paint job. I realize it takes alot of time to accomplish and obviously to the average John do P5 hopper on here they would probablly wet themselvs at the mere thought of even trying to accomplish a task like this but if you know a professional Body man like i do then there is no worries lol! Tops 2 days at the most for a job like this to really get done .

so 450 for the labor and paint plus the cost of the handles, then you have to get them re keyed so you don't have to carry 2 sets of keys all for such a minor change that no one would notice.. i mean i'm all for it if you really want to do it since it is your money and car, but i would rather spend the 450 else where..

and this is coming from someone who has paid one of the best shops in the city for 2 full paint jobs and the second one being a custom color ;), so i know the labor and cost involved in good and proper bodywork

Thanks BP5 but the hard work and good Body man that's going to do the Work is worth it to me plus i dont have to get any of them re keyed that's the nice thing about the Audi A6 Door Handles they don't have any Key locks at all there keyless lol! so all i need to unlock them is an alarm pad. That's pretty sweet right?(cabpatch)(dance)(wrc)(band)(iagree)(iagree)(iagree)

Until the key pad battery dies, like mine did 2 days ago.

Hmmm. . . . Ive never had any problems ever with My key pad dying and if thats the case you simply just open the the Hatch back up with a key and get into your car.

so then you're still carrying a key around? i guess you could keep a key in a magnet box under the car somewhere in case that happens.

post a pic of the audi handles you're talking about...did you say why are you wanting to do this?

weird.. that's the same thing i do right now with my OEM door handles.. especially since i don't have the lock cylinders that visible on my handles anymore..

To think of it I don't think I've ever used the key to unlock the door in any of my cars with keyless entry..

They'd still need the key to start the car :P It's just a keyless entry...

LOL! Of course im still carrying a key around LOL! How else am i going to drive the car with out one? I dont drive a push start! I guess your not into Custom body work and stuff i am and that's ok if your not. Im just an enthusiast for this kind of stuff. If you don't understand why im doing this then i guess your not familiar with the custom modification scene. Ill post a picture this evening
