What have you done to your MSP today?

Today I bought some non-foulers and i'm going to drill one out to put in my cat-less mid pipe.

I painted mine flat black and it looked just like it did when I bought it with 18,000 miles on her. It just looks to shiny but I know that pictures sometimes dont capture things correctly. Lets see a picture of it on the car!
It actually turned out really well, they look new. I still need to replace the door trim though the rubber seals are shot.

Got my Minus and Mazdas247 shirt in te mail!!!

I also have AWR 88duro mounts in the mail :) upgrading from what I have now.

Well found out that my tstat is fried. Got one i can pull out the one outta my other motor. Only 20k miles on that one. Fn sucks. Would change it tonight but need a gasket.

If a thermostat stays closed the car will overheat, if it sticks open (less likely but does happen with fail-safe T-stats) it will never reach operating temp, that's about all that can go wrong. You don't need a new gasket you can re-use the seal that is on the thermostat or the one that is on the one you are swapping.

I've noticed that with the mild weather and the new radiator the fans don't hardly kick on at all.

With the trim looking nice again the vinyl on the door looks bad, I want to pull it off but am afraid of messing up the paint underneath and/or not being able to remove all of it but I will do it some time soon anyway.
Here are a couple cars with it done, I really dig it.

No just a black rubber ring that goes around the Thermostat. I had it out a couple days ago when I was messing with the straight water neck.

Exhaust clip I made today:

Stock S pipe, 2 1/4" Cat-less J and mid pipe, stock cat back with resonator, stock 03.5 Racing Beat axle back. Considering I deleted both cats I really expected it to be much louder, I love the way it turned out.

Ok cool. I'll be pulling the one outta the old motor. It only had about 20k on it.

Also how does one bleed all the air outta the coolant system?

take the rad cap off and run the car, let the bubble flow out. once its all liquid. turn the car off. recap.

Use a heat gun on the black wraps around the doors and some cleaner solvent. You shouldn't have any problem taking them off. That's is what I had to do when I worked in the shop to prep the cars. I thought about doing the same to mine.

Taking the day off on my birthday to work on the speed. Pull of the AC compressor, get it fixed then reinstall

If you have ever bled the coolant system in a Honda or Cobalt SS you will be very glad that Mazdas have a self-bleeding setup. I'm also pretty sure the system will bleed itself through the overflow tank if you don't take the cap off.

Thanks, I want to do it, it will look sharp.

I noticed my clutch chattered a LOT yesterday. You fix one thing on the car and are really happy with it, and it causes another glaring problem to hit you right in the face. Oh well this car is such a damn blast.

So, some of you may remember when I posted a few weeks ago that I was ticketed for 101mph in a 60... I just got back from court- my license isn't getting suspended and my fine was only $118...
