What have you done to your P5 today?

Put some blue LED's into my hvac / cluster / roofliner / plate lights / hatch light today.. pictures coming soon =]

Thank you, how about the front? I always use the frame rail, but there must be a better place...

you can use a jack with a very small cup, just use a 2x4 to put between the jack and the car, distributes the weight much more efficiently and no worries about the jack going through our rusty floors!

getting a rough idle when i push in the clutch at some stop lights, so looks like ill be cleaning the egr and IAC shortly

Now that's a good idea, I'll run a few pieces of 2x4 over a table saw that way I'll have a nice groove to lock the wood onto the frame rail. That should distribute the load much better, thanks!

BTW, nice to see another local 'round here :D

What were the numbers for... all of those? I just ordered some and I want to make sure I got the right ones.

I just bought my 2002 P5 2 weeks ago and I'm in love!!!!! I made a HUGE upgrade from my 1995 Protege LX with ~213k miles... which started my Protege fire.

Today, I ordered LED headlights (high- and low-beams) and some new gauge cluster LEDs. All are in "Xenon White." I had the 8000K HIDs on my last Protege and I'm wanting to try something a little newer and direct. However, I do have a new set of 3000K HIDs for the fogs that will be going in soon. As soon as I get everything in, I will post before and after pics. I'm hoping the white LEDs offset my Pioneer head unit's blue color nicely.

LED headlights? I hope you didn't get the show only bulbs that look cool but put literally almost no light on the road.

That's a good idea too. Coming from a guy who may have a rustier P5 than you do... I usually use any solid suspension mounting point when this is the case. I usually support the car on jack stands where the front control arm bushing bracket is located in the front. For the rear, I use the place where the TTL's attach to the rear subframe. It seems to work for me there.

drove it to work. keep hearing this squeaky noise from the back. thinking maybe its the sway bar bushings or bushings somewhere back there

you mean this?

Thanks Phen!

I think he means HID

I actually mean LED. LEDs are becoming more of a practical application than a showpiece. Similar to how HIDs were purely luxury before you could buy a conversion kit from Amazon for $50 (which I had on my last protege). I have a friend with a Toyota Avalon with LED headlights and they look amazing and have excellent output compared to the stock halogens. Nevertheless, I will find out for sure when the arrive and I will put up pictures.

Most of the LED headlights i've seen use lenses for the optics, it's not just an LED stuffed into a reflector housing

You're just replacing the bulb with an LED bulb?

There are some pretty awesome LED headlights out there, but you get what you pay for. Cheap ebay LED headlights either won't have much light output initially or the light output will degrade over time because of poor heatsinking. A properly made LED bulb will be brighter than most conventional lighting systems, consume less power, and will generally outlast the life of the car, but it'll also leave a nice hole in your wallet :P
