Any photographers in here?

funky, what happened to your camera?!!?!?!?

Saltwater + electronics = no no.

Sea water splashed up when i was on a boat and hit the camera. I thought it'd be okay but it suddenly started givin error 20. I left it in a air conditioned room to dry for about 3 nights, and it got a bit better but not well enough to use. So I sent it back to Canon for repairs. Oops.

this is one of the last photos I took before it got wet haha.

oh noooooooo

that sucks man. I hope you got some good stuff before the camera got wet.

Also, time to upgrade to a 1d ;)

anyone interested in a Canon Powershot SX30IS? I have mine for sale. Now that I have my T2i I dont use it. 400 oob shipped.

Some new shots with my 50mm 1.8! I love it, just need to play around more so I dont get soo much noise in the picture.

Focusing with that lens is tricky so be careful. Any slightest movement at 1.8 will throw your subject out of focus.

Yea ive had a few of em that were perfect and then *click* and it was horrible, but its still a fun little lens for the money!

lol tru.

I'm selling my 50d + grip if anyone is interested... $850 for the package or I'll consider taking offers on just the camera or grip

have boxes for both, 6 batteries all together, manuals, software, etc.

Man..took a look at your Flickr...you barely used the 50D's potential LOL. C'mon! 1D is overkill.

sadly, haven't had much opportunity to use it yet. I was pretty good at nailing exposure on the 50d, but I seem to be underexposing just about every shot I take with the 1d so far... pushing everything by at least 1 stop... lots of noise :( I'll wait until I start learning how to use my equipment before posting too much stuff.

that being said, the controls are amazing. it feels great in my hands (I have big hands), and 10fps allows me to catch shots that the 50d wouldn't have gotten. I also like that you can set the slower continuous speed. I have it set to 5fps right now. Definitely loving the sensor difference. having all my lenses be wider is pretty awesome... except with the 100-400. missing the reach a little bit. The sharpness blows the 50d out of the water. As does the color representation and dynamic range. The only thing that is weird is that when the highlights blow out, they turn pink. you can see an example on the photos of the 50d. it's strange.

Ya my 7D has that as well..the slower continous speed.

I hear ya about the 50. I'm so glad I bought a 7D. The focusing and the crosshair type focusing on the 7D is way superior. I'm definitely missing my 19 point AF right now especially with low F stop lenses. The AF on the 50D is definitely not up to par in low light situations. Pissed me off that I got the camera wet LOL. Oh well.

the 7d is pretty awesome. I wanted to get something with a bigger sensor. In fact, I'm selling my 50d, sold the rebel xti and tamron 17-50 and I'm gonna get me a 5d mkII also. ;)

Nice..the 5D is nice...I was considering it, but I'm gonna stick to what I have now until something actually breaks LOL. Plus I used the 5dmk2 for a bit and didn't like the AF. The AF is not as quick as the 7D. It's not meant for what I shoot. Mostly dance and bboy stuff. I was thinking of getting the 16-35L 2.8L instead. To have a bit of wide angle also a nice 35mm focal length on a crop to do portraits with.
