Did the MSP ever have cruise?

if not, would my Protege 5 cruise be swappable into the car?

is there a reason they never had cruise? would ther ebe an issue if i put one in, wither from the P5 or an aftermarket kit?

reason im asking is i just took my car on a 1000KM road trip and it was a PITA (Pain in the Ankle)

i have a complete P5 im going to be parting / scrapping, so if it'll work (or even in theroy) id take everything out thats used in the cruise

any ideas? if it was an option, do the non cruise MSP's have the wiring?

thanks

Kenny

The outcome wouldn't be very good I don't think because MOST CC units want to go full throttle tell they reach speed. The MSP ecu tends to run lean in 5th gear if you try to go into boost. Which is the reason why most people say dont boost in 5th gear, lean in boost and more load on the engine = greater chance to become a zoom zoom BOOM member.

I'm running my cruise control on my p5 with the msp ECU. I'm also tuned and have had zero problems. Some people have had a bad experience with cruise control and will not stop accelerating no matter what speed in was engaged in.

People say the msp ECU will not work with cruise control, But my p5 wiring diagram showed that the cruise control has it's own computer.

yeah your not on stock tune as you stated. I dont think the issue would be the CC unit itself but the wounderful tune mazda gave us.

Hmm, i really hate not habign the cruise, but i also have a P5 with a blown motor, i dont really want two cars in the driveway dead.

i just got the car so i wanted to give it a nice long run on the highway, we also have a 2010 mazda 3 that we would probably just end up using on long trips, somethign i can definatly live without, but glad i asked before i just decided to rip it out and put it in.

Missing a full mp5 wireing harness and the throttle cable that goes from the module under the hood to the gas pedal

You could probably do some kind of electric cruise setup. I thought the MSPs didn't have cruise because the cruise control used vacuum to operate and when the car goes into boost it messes up.

I was always told back in 2003 that the car didn't have cruise because some of the components normally mounted in places that were blocked by some of the MSP equipment... (maybe the strut bar, 2003 was awhile back)

Idk I've boosted a few times my cruise control up hill. Then again I don't have a stock tune.

NoZoom2002 has a boosted es with CC and it works perfect. Running a TD04 turbo with a MSP ECU no problems at all.

Maybe the EGR boost sensor? The MSP has the exact same strut tower brace as my 02 P5 had.
