What have you done to your Miata today?

it's not so much a dip, as it drops down to normal idle, but rather an idle spike

When i let off the throttle and clutch in, rpm's go to 2k until i stop rolling then drop to normal

the idle dip searches bring up peolple's idle that drops from normal to near stalling. That's not what mine is doing


and shut it down at 4k rpm after lunch, so we'll see if that fixes the fuel pressure issue

hmm that's actually happened to me a couple of times, kinda felt like the throttle wire was stuck... it hasn't happened for a while though

Took a short test drive to see what sort of improvement the fender braces gave me. Noticeably stiffer front end (I'd say it was a larger step than when I install my three-point shock tower brace) and improved turn-in. If you want to stiffen your front end these will do it. I would imagine the Frog Arms do the same, you just have to modify under the fender area a little to install them.

I picked up these rims with new tires from a local CL ad for $300. The seller was going to use it for his Miata but decided to go a different route. He didn't know what company made them or anything. I'm using them for my wife's Protege. I was wondering if anyone knows what rims they are as I'd like to find some center caps for them. The rims have the Japanese "JWL" stamp on them and are 16 x 7". TIA for any help.

They'd definitely look better on a Protege than a Miata because of the flat-ish FWD look.

That looks a lot better! Once those springs settle a bit more it will have a lot better look. No more 4x4 mode!

I'm going to dismount one wheel this weekend and see if I can find more info on it.

Mine does the same thing. What I do is rev it up to about 4 and turn the key off like a rotary when I stop the car. Usually don't have that problem the next time I start it.

Seems to have fixed it. . . so far so good

FWD wheels generally have higher offsets and therefore less concave-ness (or lip) - they necessarily end up looking flatter. Which looks appropriate on a FWD car. The flat look doesn't look as good on RWD cars look because you expect to see more concave-ness/lip.
