What have you done to your Miata today?

Installed my fender braces with a few hiccups. It was nice being able to clean out the leaves etc that were residing in the lower fenders. Wasn't able to take a test drive, that will come tomorrow. I did find out that even with the doors closed and not disturbing two of the fasteners they will sag enough to throw off the alignment. I'll have to remove the fenders again and adjust them.

I wish I had something for this thread! I haven't even seen mine in about 2 months.

Took apart all of the extra running gear I purchased, taking all the rear a-arms to a shop where I can descale and sandblast them after work. Then some POR15 and polyurethane bushings and soon, maybe, installation on my car.

Does anyone know a good source for the suspension bolts? I'd like to replace those as well if it's not an arm and a leg, New England takes a toll...

I get all that type of stuff from Mazda Motorsports.

Finishline's prices are pretty awesome as well when compared to a normal dealership. Shipping costs suck from both places though :(

Finishline is my local Mazda dealer in Arlington.

getting tougher and tougher to start. .

Fires up fine in the morning, but after being parked for more than 5 minutes, when turning the key, i hear a pressure surge and a "pop/psshhh" and the fuel pump only flicker for a second then nothing. . . Go to start and the engine barely turns over, and when it does, it shakes and vibrates like it's missing for about 30 seconds then levels out and is ok again. . .

any ideas?

nobody?

Mine does the same thing. What I do is rev it up to about 4 and turn the key off like a rotary when I stop the car. Usually don't have that problem the next time I start it.

I'll give that a try this afternoon coming back from lunch

The second issue that popped up is high idle as I roll to a stop (peaking at 2k and dropping off a second before bouncing back up to 2k) then it drops to normal once i stop moving, but i'm not sure if it's temp related since it's doing it now that it's cold out (40s)

Go to Miata.net. Search "idle dip".

it's not so much a dip, as it drops down to normal idle, but rather an idle spike

When i let off the throttle and clutch in, rpm's go to 2k until i stop rolling then drop to normal

the idle dip searches bring up peolple's idle that drops from normal to near stalling. That's not what mine is doing

and shut it down at 4k rpm after lunch, so we'll see if that fixes the fuel pressure issue

Yeah, in my case, the car acts likes it's partially flooded. Doing that will eliminate the possibility of unburnt fuel just chillin on top of the piston. Or even oil that may be seeping past the valve seals.
