What have you done to your MSP today?

"dropped it off at the shop" is only an acceptable post in the event of catestropic differential failure. You really should do mods like this yourself. You get to know your car, and have the satisfaction of having improved something you care about with your own 2 hands.

Damn so me dropping my car off at the local exhaust shop to install and complete my down pipe(only had the pope casting) isn't acceptable even when I don't know how or have access toa welder?

Really? Why not R&R the diff. yourself? Don't see why you'd even do it then if it's such a big deal... I was going to do it, luckily when I started pulling the transmission, found that the inboard CV joint had come apart inside the boot.

Running? Who said anything about running? I didn't say anything about running?
Running is such a strong word.
I ran across your 3" exhaust video on YT... is that how you're running it now?

The vids are cat-less. When I get my car up and running again, it will be catted.

Booo

On that note does anyone know if corksport sells just the mufflers from their exhaust system?

Their Power Series exhaust system is very appealing... 3" exhaust system for $400 isn't bad at all. I couldn't custom make a 3" exhaust for that much. Probably.

No sense of humor these days... I tell you.

I had my trans fully rebuilt when I did it, and I do not have the tooling or expertise to set bearing tolerances, backlash, and such. If I was going to just pull the old and drop in a new one sure, but as long as it had to be done, I had the shop go through the entire thing.

Well, then, maybe he doesn't have any tools or any know-how at all. Even things that some of us think are simple may be far above and beyond someone elses abilities. I'm just trying to make a point. You don't have the tools or skills to do that, but I do. Yeah, it's on a much larger scale, but the principle still applies.

Yeah so I called up the shop to see how progress was going .... They were having issues with the back mount and thought they had to take out the engine to do it... Told them no lol so they said.call them back in a cuple hrs.... And this is a shop that does all performance cars , race cars etc.....

Wow... They actually thought that... However, I bet they sold it to you at no more than an hour... Sucks for them. It calls for .7hr. Send them a link to the "how-to" for it. Lol

^+1 that is a dam shame but they are supposed to be professionals.
Granted, mistakes are made, and book times and repair information is sometimes wrong- like the labor time on this mount- but if they've sold it to you, make sure they stand by that quote. Plus, simply looking at it should tell them they DON'T have to R&I the engine to do it. <---That's what bothers me.

No joke. I did my rear mount and let you tell you it sucked ASS. Now I have the 505zoom Intake manifold and it would be a lot easier I would just remove the manifold or get some long extensions and do it from the top.

yeah the guy was mad cool about it, i guess he charges $67 an hr no matter what the job is and basicly does everything, his son races and he built and works on his race car as well. he had it out back and showed me, pretty sick car. so ill prob be bringing my car back there for other stuff most likely ....
