Where'd you go? I'll be driving down again in 10 days. I'll be meeting stealth also .
I went to Bradenton, which is about 1hr south of Tampa.

I'd never ******* do it if one of my customers asked. But it's my car and the rods and crank looked flawless, so I did it anyway. The only thing I paid for were the bearings and axle seals. Everything else I can get for free- fluids, filter, chemical gasket, etc. It literally took me 8 hours to complete the job. Book time is 14, so I'm good with it. I replaced just the rod bearings in a D16 and it lasted almost 30k before I sold the car. Have no idea where it's at now. Could've flown apart the following day for all I know. LolI have never had any luck with just replacing the bearings. We have done that at the shop before as the customer requested and it has a high failure rate.
Yeah, I mean, it's not like these engines are known for oil starvation issues, which would be greatly exacerbated by me taking it to The Dragon/Cherohala Skyway literally every single weekend... So, not installing a deep sump oil pan was my error. The rod bearings shouldnt fail unless they were improperly installed. Sounds like user error to me
This is a band-aid while I build my motor. This isn't long term. Lol.I don't know, usually there is a reason they failed, and I have found that in the long run it
Doesn't work out. I hope it does for you.
posted in your thread big guy!bah your taking away the fun of modding the car
Dropped my car off to get the motor mounts and mid pipe in as well, and depending on price the FMI also....
Yeah i know, just dont have the time with working 7 days a week and having a 2 & 1 y/o as well.... and i did spend 4 hrs yesterday trying to get the bolts off the mid pipe got the front two off and stripped the s*** out of the other two so i called it a day after i was yelling at a bolt lol
"dropped it off at the shop" is only an acceptable post in the event of catestropic differential failure. You really should do mods like this yourself. You get to know your car, and have the satisfaction of having improved something you care about with your own 2 hands.
Yikes. I did 3 midpipe swaps, each after wintering the car for a year (first being the original to the car), and a little PB Blaster made it a 1 hour job on jack stands. 4 hours? YIKES. and then only to be unsuccessful?
yeah it sucked, that BP s*** did not much of anything, im swapped so many dif exhoust on so many dif cars and this just didnt want to come off and just stripped the s*** out of the bolts and by that time it was dark out already (4pm) and i was done, went from working 7am-1pm to doing my car till almost 6pm in the dark sucked. so at this point i just want it all done and over with and have nothing to worry about... sucks its gunna cost me a few bills but what ever at this point, im not a mechanic, just do it as a hobby.... some times i can other times i cant .... this is a "i cant" what ever
Also, my condolences on having 3 babies that tie up your resources and attention. LOL
