Hi does any one on here know or have pictures of any one who ever installed the real 6 inch round yellow Fog lights for there P5 Protege? I don't want to here about that stupid Yellow Tint overlay crap because that stuff is Garbage!(uhm)(uhm) I know there really hard to find the Yellow 6 inch round headlights so there has to be some one on here with them and if so please send me pics on how you installed them. All pics would help thanks

Ive got the yellow Laminex overlays, on now for 2 years, still perfect and if you can tell the diff from 15' away Ill give ya 10$. What makes you say the overlays are garbage ?
(not to mention the cost difference)

Tint is the way to go, I got some cheap dark yellow tint film off amazon for like $6 and it looks amazing. Its insanely easy to take the fogs out and do it. i hate all that ricey stuff, but this is one of those things that doesnt count.

Well I guess the old saying "A fool and his money are soon parted" is true. Im a photographer, I work with lighting on a professional basis. I can tell you the difference between OEM yellow fogs and aftermarket tinted fogs is that in the OEM light the tint is in between two layers of glass, in the aftermarket it sits on the surface. There is no difference in light output, color temperature (if you get the correct film), or throw pattern. But hey some people are purists, if it didnt come from the factory they dont want it . . . personaly i dont get the point. Im actually interested to hear his reasoning.
Hey Walking Kaos whether there is no difference in light output or color temperature i realize people think there just as good and that's great for them and as far as being what you call a Purist i would say im just an original guy that likes old School stuff. The Main Reason i Prefer The Yellow 6 inch Fog Lights is there more original than over lays and there more unique and they definitely look better. If you had a choice between 7 spoke star rims and 7 spoke star hub caps what would you take the rims or the hub caps? Obviously the Rims because they look 100 times better. Well i feel the same about the Fog lights they just look better and unfortunately there really hard to find that's why people settle for the cheap crap.(2cents)(2cents)(blarf)(blarf)

Do you have photos of an original set ? Im curious to see the difference.
Not sure if these are what you are referring to but here are some pics. These are CATZ fog ligts (I believe they are 5.5") and the pics are from when I first installed them. Still have them and I love them. From seeing these versus the overlays, these look much cleaner and light output is more yellow. However the light output is about the same, not really any brighter.
Sorry I do not have any pics of the light output onto the road, could get some if people want them. I really do love these lights but I only use them during the winter since the yellow clashes with my summer wheels. Even more rare then the lights are the covers that go with them. I have yet to see anyone else on the forum who uses them. Your best bet is to find the lights are ebay or the fs section.

You truly do know what Good quality is Flash its a shame they dont Make these Catz Sr anymore because i know if they did every one would be buying them. I know i would buy them. If you have these or any others for sale let me know ill buy them off you immediately. Did these Catz Sr 's Bolt right in? Did you have to modify them to get them to work at all?

Thanks! The overlays are fine really, I just got a good deal on these bad boys new and couldn't resist.
They basically bolted right in but in a weird way. It's kind of hard to explain but they were not made for our cars, they just happened to fit them. They are actually in upside down from how they are meant to be and you have to use some washers to help push the lights forward. Otherwise they would not fit properly.
A problem (that I have had at least) is that if they are not in tight enough, and I really mean that have to be wedged in there good, they will flop forward.
Like I said its hard to explain but if you ever get a set you would see what I mean. Overall though you can't go wrong with them. I will get rid of them when my car stops moving...and needless to say that is going to be a long long time.
Hey Flash i know what you mean, It takes some customizing in order to fit. Just like 99% of all the other stuff out there. I can understand that you want to keep them i dont blame you. Hey you want to know what my new upgrade is going to be? Im putting Bosch Pilot 160's on my P5 those are the Yellow 6 inch fog lights they require some mods to.
