Side Skirts

A lot of drilling and a lot of clips if you are using the OEM skirts. Tempaltes are provided in the install instructions.

I have those on my 5 Sport. They give you 4 self-tapping screws. That's about it. You'll want to go out and buy 3M mounting tape to install these.

Thanks amssprinter. I'm assuming you installed them yourself? Would like to link with you to get more info at some point if you did.

For the side skirts, I pretty much just pre-drilled 8 small holes(2 per inner fender) and used the provided self tapping screws. I stacked up 3M double tape for the sides of the front fenders. If you want to do it right, you might want to make custom brackets to mount the tabs at the bottom(but I didn't do this). You can't use mounting tape for the portion underneath the doors because they will scrape due to lack of clearance.

As for the rest of the kit, I just used long strips of 3M mounting tape all the way along the top edges of the lips and used the self tapping screws for the inner fenders.

Let me know if you want photos.

Thanks!

Thanks. Would most definitely like to see pics. pm'd you.
EDIT: doesn't look like PM works. Oh well. Still want to see them when you can post them.
Thanks

Yes, can you post some pictures? By the way do you or know anyone that have a set of the 2006-2007 rear taillights that you would consider trading for a set of the 2009 style taillights?

Here's the screw placement on the side skirts.

Here is where you would place the mounting tape behind the side skirt.

Here is a closer look at the rear lip. You want to use 3M mounting tape all along the top edge.

Hope this helps.

Could you post some more pictures of the wing to other angles. I'd like to see the gap between the wing and the top of the hatch. It's holding with 4 bolts, right?

amssprinter: I forgot to ask if you lost a significant amount of ground clearance when you added the skirts, or did they just end being flush with the undercarriage?

Here are a few more photos. It uses 4 mounting bolts but they are in different locations from the factory ones.

They hang a little lower but not by much. Maybe 1/2 an inch towards the back.

You ride is my favorite Mz5 by far, but come’on, you need to change that factory antenna! In fact, you are required to get a shark fin! -I kid, no, seriously...

BTW, thanks for the link to the spoiler. I have too many little things to get done first but it is on my list for next year!

Do I need to remove the OEM side skirt before I install the Bayson R skirts?
