So yeah.... i traded my 2008 VW R32 for a new Mazda 2 Touring Manual. Crazy huh?

I'm very happy to join the Mazda 2 family. Although i bought the car i still don't actually have it. My selected trim is apparently very hard to find. Not one available in Florida. First they had one in Florida some where. Nope. Then they had one in Wyoming. Nope. Than they had one in Virginia. No again. Now it seems mine has just come off a ship and heading over to my local Mazda dealer with in days. Crossing fingers.

Good to see some modified Mazda 2's on here. I'm hoping with in time that there will be a lot more customized versions to see. I also hope that the Mazda 2 sells well and becomes an aftermarket favorite. As it has all the makings of a great drivers car that actually is a favorite in other countries.

I have big plans for this little Mazda 2. I've been to Thailand and I've seen things. I've realized things and i will take advantages of those things to create the Mazda 2 that we should have been able to create in the Mazda 2 options page. ( if you live in another country that is )

It's gonna be a little expensive... but it's gonna be a lot of fun. (headbang)

A Crystal White Pearl Touring Manual. Not one in all of Florida at the time i bought it. I'm told it mostly has to do with the disaster in Japan and lack of supply. Which is understandable.

That's exactly what I have. Neener neener! I came from an extremely similar car too. 2008 Subaru Sti. I plan on modding my 2 a decent amount but nothing too crazy, there just isn't too many parts available.

I haven't seen too big of a 2 following but it's always cool to see people do different things. I'm sure you won't disappoint. Are you going to use this thread as your build thread?

Something about small and simple I couldn't get out of my head....

Oh yeah that's right, it also washed away all of my great memories of a blown VF40 and endless nights doing this and that on my back underneath the car...

Welcome. I got the Crystal Pearl White also, just the sport model. I didn't find the touring as much more than the sport sooo... But i've modded mine quite some..Feel free to ask any questions!

It's obviously no R32, but I came from a MKV GTI as well. I'm not gonna lie and say I don't miss the power and the sixth gear, but I absolutely wouldn't have picked a different car to trade into if I did it over again.

Neener neener to you buddy! It's a little strange losing all that horse power but the car is fun to drive and feels quick. I will also be doing a lot of modding. I like it clean though. There are actually a lot of parts available but in other countries.

Thanks bro. I've literally seen 3 Mazda 2 in Miami since i got back from Thailand. That includes mine. haha... Whatever. We'll be the lucky few. I will be creating a build thread but probably in the appearance section but I'm not exactly sure which section I'm supposed to do it in.

haha....thanks! My friends are also making fun of me but they do understand why i did it. Like, "Are there hamsters under the hood?" haha

I did it to save money and still have a car that looks great hooked up and has potential for more power. To be honest now that I've driven it around it reminds me of my old Honda CRX Si. Very similar.

Thanks! The pearl paint is nice huh? I do have some questions. haha How do the H&R Springs feel? How much more horsepower are you getting from the intake and exhaust? 3 things i plan on doing.

Yeah, I'd also admit for the very short time I've been driving the 2 i do already miss the extra horsepower but i am enjoying the manual and the handling. It's a fun car so far.

I got a big surprise this morning. I was already going in to the dealer today to sign all my papers and the car was there! haha

It was a great morning! I'll post pics of the 2 ( still with plastic wrap ) later tonight. Car reminds me of my old Honda CRX Si. Revy and quick. Fun to drive. Gotta start modding asap though. Turn this thing into what it deserves to be. (headbang)
