How much did you pay for your Mazda2?

i actually got mines 16.5 otd at putnam. if you use carwoo.com itll actually make it much easier to find all the prices around. the two dealers that seemed to be competitive was putnam and stevens creek blvd.

wow thats a good deal mray..... so dublin jsut called me 16052 tax license included, with 1500 down however my apr is way high which is im not really worried because i have bad credit due to foreclosuer. anyways this is good right?

sounds good to me. i think the prices are only going to get higher as people are more aware of it.

Jeez, 12k OTD??
Hawaii sucks for car dealerships - we have two for Mazdas and they don't really deal at all.
I got my Black Sport 5MT for $16200 OTD with the high fees and destination charges. They even wanted to tack on an additional $1700 for "ResistAll", some made up crap about putting on coating and underbody stuff. I got that removed from the price, and that only took me 2 hours to do.
but I did get the 0% APR financing, and put down $3k on my frequent flier miles card. So not too bad to me, though I could have flown to a different state, drove it to Long Beach, CA and put it on a boat for cheaper than I bought this car for.

wow you guys do pay a lot over in the states, sorry im chris from the uk i wanted a M2 sport and we only pay about say 12, 000 for new, thats with 1st years road tax duty and your license plate included with vat aswell, that figure is a guesstimate though, if you have trade in and some cash for deposit you will get a lot cheaper, i bought my TS2 model for 8, 500 on finance, wanting to trade in next year though for a sport :D

You do realize that 12,000.00 Euros is roughly $17,384.00 US Dollars right? A 2011 Mazda2 Sport goes for $14,975.00 USD (destination fee included) which is only 10,335.00 Euros. If you add on another 690.00 Euros for what we pay for average sales tax, title and registration, you're at 11,025.00 Euros which is still less than what you paid for your 2. For comparison reasons, I myself paid $18,250.00 (12,600.00 Euros for my 2011 Automatic MZ2 Touring and this price was out the door (car, sales tax, registration, dealer fee and gap insurance). Currency exchange rates change the game quite a bit. Also, our fuel costs are over 2 times less than yours cost, that helps us as well.

i dont pay in euros, pound sterling, but i agree over your fuel price, the tax is horrific over here lol and i dont own a sport, as i said in my post i currently own a TS2 which i paid roughly 8, 500 for :)

Newbie here, First Post & proud owner of my new 2011 Sport Mazda 2 5-Speed in Auqatic Blue. Have had it for a week now & happy but a bit mixed on it's performance.

I spent 3 weeks haggling with a few dealers (only allowed email communication during the process until I was ready to close the deal) & closed on my car for $13,500 + $300 license fee cash out the door. Honestly I was rather surprised they negotiated at all, there were only three 5-Speed sport models within a 250 mile radius. They had to bring my car in from another dealer 175 miles away. When I was signing the papers the dealer was telling me they couldn't keep the Mazda 2 in inventory, they're out the door within a week. I was also getting quotes on a competitors model from Japan & they wouldn't budge from MSRP, said they could sell them all day long at the price. Not complaining, just amazed they came down to my price.

In the past 6 months I've seen two Mazda 2's on the road. Haven't seen any since I bought mine. I also own an 2010 RX-8 & it's the same thing, I might see 1 RX-8 a week on the roads here in the NW. People don't know what they are missing, I've got the best of both worlds now, Great Mileage for my 50 mile work commute during the week in my Mazda 2 & Zoom-Zoom on the weekend in my RX-8.

Newbie here but I bought my 2 back in August of 2010 when my 02 Protege finally started nickel and diming me to death. With it being a brand new model I ended up paying full sticker, but was able to get them to deal a little on my trade to make up some of that (ended up getting them to go up $800 on my trade and ended up getting $1900 trade for an 02 Protege with some minor issues).

I'm right there with ya. I bought mine 08/08/10 and paid full sticker but whatever, sticker wasn't much of a mark up anyway at that time ya know? Congrats on your 2 btw and welcome to the forums :)

I got my Base, MT 2 for 14,200 out the door. With the zero interest it was, I think a good deal. Love driving it. 8k miles in 2 months. :)

Oh God. Did I pay too much for my base manual Mazda2? $15,800 out the door with ttl, destination, registration, etc.

OUCH!

I had targeted $13,000 as my magic # to sign the papers, but bit the bullet & paid the extra $500 because I knew I couldn't get them any lower & I really liked the handling of the Mazda2 better than the other vehicles I had on my list. $15,800 seems high, but your driving a Mazda2 that has to put a grin on your face. Have you seen any other Mazda2's driving around, at least around here, after almost 3 weeks, I've seen 1 other Mazda2 on the road. We're a rare breed right now!! I have a Nissan a Hyundai & 2 Mazda's in my driveway, the Mazda's win hands down --- ZOOM ZOOM

The $15800 base Mazda2 Breakdown

Let's see... it's a base Mazda2 with manual transmission (which I wanted, cause it's more fun to drive :-)

The selling price, including the destination fee, was $14778. Add 6.25 TX sales tax for $908, $330 in inspection, license plate, title, and doc fees and there is the $15800, give or take a few dollars for their creative accounting.

I financed on the 0% for 60 months deal....

I don't know if it makes a difference on the location in the country where I am, but I'm in Texas...

I've been working in collateral loans for a major bank for the past 4 years and I was working out general figures for what you paid before I read your post and had already come to a conclusion that you got a nice deal actually.

Considering the base price of the car you bought went up $200.00 to $14,180.00, and the destination charge went up $45.00 to $795.00, your total cost for the car including destination should have been $14,975.00 so you essentially got the price of what the Mazda2's started at ($13,980.00 + $750.00 Dest). Also, 6.25% sales tax isn't horrible. We have 6.00% here in FL. The $330.00 for Title, Reg and Inspection fees also isn't bad. Finally, I didn't see a dealer fee rolled into the price breakdown so if you avoided that, bravo, you got a wonderful deal (note: my dealer charged $598.00 for their dealer fee). If not, no worries, you still got a good deal as far as I'm concerned.

Oh, one last thing. You got 0% interest which is something not everyone can say nowadays so extra credit for that :)

Ahhhh...a bit of relief! Thank you. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Thanks for the feedback and breakdown. Numbers is definitely not my strongsuit :-)
