Yup. My dad replaced a power steering line on his. Had to take the seats out, as well as the one bulkhead to get to it.

Exactly. I've seen a few for sale for a "decent" price, and they're by far tempting.
The thing with the Cayman S is that if they put the big motor, or the turbo motor into it, it'd out perform the 911. Can't have the flagship being beat by a lowly sub-model.
I wouldn't buy German. They look great and probably perform well (I personally wouldn't know) but they are a b**** to work on. But I don't make that kind of money to buy one anyway. My mid-life crisis car will probably be a Caterham I built myself in my garage.

Lately, I can almost give 2 s**** about Japanese cars. I've got the old German virus again, ever since I got the Bavaria. I know most of it comes down to knowing that I'm driving something that no one else locally has, and most people have never seen before. It also goes back to me being burnt out by the car scene too. Hell, I'm sure if I gave a damn, I could have probably figured out the Miata issue and fixed it 3 months ago.

I guess I worded it badly. I still love the Mazdas and Hondas, but my desire to go drop a bunch of money on a bunch of parts has been gone for a while. I'm honestly jealous of all of you guys doing all of these different modifications. Engine swaps, new suspensions, wheels and tires galore... I can't afford to do any of that. After going thru the last several years wanting to do a bunch of stuff, but never being able to... I gave up.
Speaking of mods. Jenny and I discussed another track day this season and the verdict is NO. After all of the stuff I have bought and put on the car we need to "tighten the purse strings". Since we have a baby (Boy, fingers crossed. But according to Marlon, a lock.) on the way we figured it would be best to try to build a nest egg. Next year? Damn I need to get some sponsorship!

I feel you there. After getting kicked in the pants financially for the last few months I feel a bit defeated. There's a ton of stuff I'd love to do to both cars but it just isn't affordable right now. So instead I choose to not care because its easier than wanting something and knowing I won't be able to afford it for a while.

this is the EXACT reason why ive been posting less and less in the ohio section, cause everyone thinks im in a bad mood or angry, when really im not...

Be happy, friends! It's hump day.
I noticed today that my tires look like they're about down to the first wear bar. This is my first set of tires (some real premos I might add, Capitol Sport UHP, like 80$ mounted and balanced lol), but I doubt I even have 10k on them. I'd say 8k max. I think they were rated for 60k miles, but it might be 40k. Is that normal to see that much wear? I've never spun them (stupid FS can't spin them, lol), I've only even gotten them to make noise once (in a parking lot, wheel locked doing 25mph), and I've never locked them up under braking.

Tire wear is a subjective guess. There's too much to factor in. I made a set of Falken Azenis RT-615's last almost 25k miles on my Protege. It's really anyone's guess. As a wear item, I use them until they wear out, and then I just replace them. I don't ever put too much concern on their life.

^^^^ true that as Phen said, there are just to many variables when it comes to tire wear..pressures, road conditions, etc.
Maybe it's because you curse a lot in your posts it sounds like you're mad or in a bad mood. It's hard to read the inflection in text so maybe I'm way off. You don't have to bug off, don't be silly. It just seems like you and Phen aren't the happiest folks lately. That's all I was saying. Send me a text if I did/said something mean and we can bang it out. No worries, mate.
