Cool, I might do it in sections. Did you do any sanding to prep for paint?

Haha, I freaking forgot. I was so busy trying to get everything ready in time for the few "nice" days I could actually do some painting I freaking flaked on the sanding. I'm sure it will get chipped up pretty easily, especially when the motor goes in Saturday. But I'll try to be careful.

But as you know, certainly sand yours really well first. I did at least remember to clean the bay really well first at least.

Hey roommate, hahaha had to do it. But anyway, I was going to recommend getting a couple cans of undercoating duplicolor or something and spraying down the bay over the black. It will add another layer of protection and that stuff sticks on everything and will probably chip less. It's just an idea

I thought about bedliner but it's not designed for high heat. It would get mushy pretty easily.

We'll just have to coat the engine bay and the KL with towels to protect both of them. Hopefully once it's in the mad G's you pull on the track won't warp the frame enough that the paint will chip. Here's to hoping!

I used this to cover that pan that protects the gas tank.

It's really nice because it doesn't stay sticky, it dries but remains rubbery. It's pretty cool stuff.

Bwahaha! Yeah, frame flex in a freaking P5 would be hilarious. Not possible in my situation, but still hilarious. Many towels will be used and it will go in very, very slowly. That's why I said the plan for Saturday is just to get the motor in. Then dinner.

i say use bubble wrap that way when you get the motor in you can relax and pop all the bubbles =)

=) yea I'll end up just doing one section at a time. I'll be sure to sand. lol I seen them at walmart for $4.80 a can. So I'll pick up two. Lol I dont plan on Doing the back side.

Not in the crummy garage in the rented house. But when I get my own place I'll certainly have a lift. And Lewis Motorsports will live on once again. Muhaha!

Haha! My GF and I were talking about getting a house (renting, I'm not interested in a 30 year payment right now) in a year or so and the first thing we're looking for is a big garage. She said she's fine with having a small house on top of a big-ass garage. I mean, I'm going to be spending all my time in there anyway so why not?

I'm off to finally bolt up the rear suspension with my new hardware, put some UV protectant on the headlights, and poke around at what else I can do before the motor goes in Saturday. I can't wait. I really miss driving. I very highly doubt I'll be driving the P5 before the end of the weekend since I'll need to sort out all the wiring but I'm making progress and that is a good thing.

Bullocks. I already hit a snag. heh-heh

It looks like the passenger motor mount bolts are a lot longer than the ZE counterpart. My Protege MM won't tighten down onto the engine side of the bolts, if that makes sense. I supposed I could fab up some metal bushings or use a die to thread them down but Josh is going to check out the bolts on his broken FS-DE and maybe I can swap them out. Of course I'll have to take the belts off, timing cover and all that jazz to get to the bolts but it could be worse. At least I spotted in now instead of Saturday when the motor is supposed to be in.

Here's what I'm talking about. My "Milly" motor bolts are super long and not threaded all the way down.

My ideal "house" would be a kitchen, bathroom,& 2 bedrooms attached to a 3 car garage! Oh yes heated concrete floor, insulated and drywalled, radiant heat, tons of lights, a kick as work bench, def gonna have a lift maybe 2, a couple of recliners a sofa, big screen T.V, and of course a beer fridge. That should just about cover it. Man cave with bedrooms haha!
