What have you done to your MSP today?

How do you get the stock endlinks disconnected from the stock struts? I've got it turning after some pb and a rubber mallet/wrench, but the nut doesn't seen to be coming off at all.. Any suggestions?

Use an allen wrench on top of the nut so the whole thing doesn't turn.

But... that doesn't sound like your problem.

Well, stripped it with the allen wrench on one side, haven't tried the other side yet.. What a PITA! How do I get that thing off now? Am I going to have to get new end links?

EDIT: Will it be alright to drive it as is until I can get some new end links in?

it'll be fine, just dont take any sharp turns!

edit: anybody know whats up with photobucket? even though the main page is working, it wont let me sign in and the sig isnt showing up.

didn't they dyno it to be something like a 15-20whp improvement, and if I remember, they did it against the thunder mani, but then again the guy had boost up and forged internals and stuff like that, not sure if they did it on stock turbo/internals and stuff yet

You don't necessarily need any end links on the car at all, they just make cornering more fun. You'll be fine. Every time I have to remove the stock end links I just buy new ones and cut off the old ones. This time I coated the allen heads in anti-seize which will prevent them from rotting out.

Well they're still on the car for now. I figured since I didn't really take anything off, just stripped the allen head, that it would hopefully be fine temporarily. I'm probably going with the awr rear end links. The only problem I've heard of with those is the o-ring or rubber grommets need replacing every once in a while. And they don't have any allen heads from what I can tell in the pics I've seen, so that should make it much easier.

The don't have allen heads, you are correct. They will still make noise even with the rubber grommets, and they will eventually break just like they have for everyone who autocrosses with them. If you do buy them, grab some short metal spacers (or cut down longer ones) from Home Depot to push them away from the mounting tabs (1/4" should be fine).

I can't afford to autocross anyway, just some spirited daily driving. I thought the issues were mostly just with their front end links. I read that using thick rubber grommets and tightening them as much as possible keeps the rears quiet.
So, the metal washers would help prevent anything breaking? Any installed pics?

If there's a better option for rear end links I'm open to others..

You're right, the fronts are the ones that broke for me, I forgot about that. You wouldn't want pictures of what mine ended up looking like any ways because they were piles of rust after one winter up here in NY. You could always just make your own and save some money.
