What have you done to your MSP today?

well basically, i had to pull out his dash to locate and fix it. it was running along the passenger side seams. there's a glue type of stuff there, but it was all cracked up. so i re sealed allof it.

that does not sound like fun, I pulled up my carpet to get to the ECU and it was pretty moist there.

^I Failed last Aug. too! I should have just taken it in the first time to get it done right. Instead, failed then had to take it in to get it redone.
Fixed the horable rear sound inthe suspension of the MSP yesterday. When I replaced the struts and added the new lowering springs I relocated the endlinks on the rear swaybar and shorten themmaking the rear alot tighter. Well I thought I had plenty of clearance, bur I was wrong like always. The lateral links were leaving a mark on the top of the swabar. Thank God nothing was bent. It sounded nasty. So I left the links inthe same spot, but this time extended them about 1inch to give more clearance. No sound at all now and it rides great.
Also getting my new Falken Avenis 615K tires installed on my track rims. Can't wait tillthis weekend to try out the new setup and actual track tire (instead of DD street tires). Should be a world of difference.

Well, I wasn't going to go there, but the experiences I've read on here are exactly why I am not even attempting it. $250 to not have to think about it... I can live with.

it's something I'm never going to attempt again, I caused more damage than good.

Same here. Right when I thought I had it all together right and began to mount it back to the car the outer race came off. I was like WTF and was swearing for the rest of the night. The next day I had to tow her to my buddies shop to get her fixed. From now on if I don't have enough knowledge or the "right" tools it goes to the shop. First time I've ever had to take her in besides for an alignment.

Wow you guys had that much difficulty doing your front wheel bearings? That's crazy. I found it relatively easy when I did mine....

Hey guys I need help. I want to buy a new set of hub centric rings but need to find the ID and OD of the ring? Is there anyway I can find it on this website so I don't have to take the damn wheel off?

couldn't get my axle out with an air hammer

My axle had welded itself to the spindle by way of wheel bearing total meltdown. Not cool. And not cheap.

<--Installed an updated speedcircuit engine, trans, new awr engine mounts, and a slew of other stuff. Some of it is top secret for now. :)

You should find someone to make some Gears for the Protege.... Since PAR is the only one out there still :(

Got my new Forge waste-gate in the mail yesterday, now I just need to find the thread that explains how to install the internal waste-gate with out removing the turbo. Can anyone shoot me the link, I did a search and couldn't find it?

Quick and dirty how-to or how I did it before.

removed all hardware from the exhaust mani to the head, loosen bolt from s-pipe to block bracket, disconnect the j-pipe from the block bracket, pull all forward a inch or two, buy a extra pack of c-clips because you WILL drop it and misplace it, remove WGA nut from under the car(you can get to the top one from the top), put back together.

Edit: im sure im missing a step or two but thats teh gist of it.

it can also be done without pulling the manifold, but its a LOT of jacking around and should only be attempted with ratcheting combo wrenches. I did it without... and I do NOT recommend it

That weird hump under my carpet...

was....

A cookbook.

A motherfucking cookbook.

I lol'd, lol'd hard.

thats not stock either.

how in the hell did you get to the e-clip without backing off the stock exhaust mani..? I cant even see the damn thing with a flashlight yet alone get to it. I can see right around where its at but thats it.
