HPFP - sigh...

I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy CP-e's HPFP. I have very litte by way of power mods (Cobb AP (OTS, stage 1 SF+ 93), Cobb SRI+TIP, TMIC) and I was thinking of getting a pro-tune next month to smooth things out. I talked with the facility about needing an upgraded pump with this low level of perf mods and they said I should be fine w/o it, but anything beyond what I have and it is recommended. Which made me feel great, initially, but then I just kept thinking about the inevitable...I guess I'd rather have the piece of mind of having a reliable pump when going in for the (very mild) tune vs always thinking in the back of my head that the next time I'm WOT...boom.

I'm not under the impression that the upgrade is going to make the MS3 invincible - but added security, to be sure. effing expensive though. looks like I'll be carpooling with the wife (and hiding, yet another, part purchase from her while I'm at it)....I hate this road..."oh, well I've upgraded the FP...so I might as well pull the trigger on that CS TBE now..." This, of course, will only lead to something else. I love cars...and hate them, just the same. I HAVE NO SELF CONTROL! it's buying 80's horror movies all over again...

More of a rant, this post...

Search this forum for Kenne Belle.
This company makes super chargers and super charger accessories. One of the things they make is a device called the Boost a Pump. It's basically a boost reference controlled voltage amplifier for the in-tank fuel pump which is what supplies the CDFP with fuel. I haven't confirmed it's the solution to fuel cut but there are some informative discussions about it here. You may have to search the MS6 forums for the final verdict on if it works, but if it does, it's a lot cheaper and easier to install than a CDFP upgrade.

Won't help a thing. Get a fuel pump upgrade, as that is the part that's failing when you get dropped fuel pressure. Pushing more fuel to the HPFP might relieve some stress, but if it's anything it's a bandaid fix for what you really need to upgrade
