Zero Problems runs amazing :)

2003 Protege LX at 162,8xx. Still kickin'. Been boosted since 100,000 or so, which is about 4 years now, on stock internals. Do oil changes every 2,500 miles ever since boosted, just because T3 turbocharger likes to destroy oil lol. Valve seals need some work as I'm burning oil. That's some boost load for ya, lol. Other than that, rear passenger door locking motor just died on me, so that needs to be replaced.

114k, almost 115 and the car runs like a champ. just need to install EBC pads and Stoptech lines and way on the lights from Matt V and my modding is done for a while

2003 Pro5 4spd auto w/ tiptronics named Missy the Mazda. I drove this b**** off the lot as the original owner for just under $17,000. I have spent my career driving this car as a sales man (much travel required), then met a sales woman (my wife) and now Missy has 145,??? stock miles! I was getting ready to trade her in, but definitely don't need another bill, so decided to show her some TLC. Just starting my upgrades. Car runs flawlessly, but I haven't messed with anything, until now! Muahahahahahahahahaha!

How's the car run at your altitude? I had a Mazda5 last week when I was in Denver. Ran ok, but when I did my scenic drive down CO-119, she was struggling! Handled great, but I had my foot in it the entire time. Can't say that I wasn't pushing limits at times, but hey...it's a Mazda. You're suppoed to enjoy the drive!

It does all right. Turbos make the biggest difference up here, but I'm rolling the 4 speed auto, so no turbo in my future. She'll run better once I open her up, and let her breathe! Thinking about a little 35 squirt eventually...I'm pretty sure that should work fine with an auto.

You mean nitrous? Stay away from nitrous on Protege's. Misfire codes with nitrous are not fun.

ooooo...OK. I guess I'll just stay slow and loud. At least I'll look good! LOL!
yea you're better off doing methanol injection setup instead of nitrous. The reason being is that our ecu's don't like nitrous. The spontaneous power is there, but because you're bypassing MAF with nitrous, the ecu doesn't see you spraying, therefore ecu can't adjust right away and hello misfire.

OK. I'll do some research and check into the Methanol set up.

Thanks!

It sounds like I need forced induction (turbo/supercharge) to run an MI kit. Can anyone confirm?

technically no, but meth doesn't really do anything fantastic on an NA setup. Nitrous would make a lot more sense.

*disclaimer: if you run nitrous on a FS-DE you're pretty much asking to blow it up*
