The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Hope some of you can help. yesterday I hit t the snow bank, and damaged bottom right side plastic scirt that runs from front to back wheel, right under or bellow b pillar. Im mad at my self because I was trying to turn right and squeez between this guy who was going straight, but took him like 2 minutes. I sort off climbed with my two right wheels on the snowbank, wich was more like iceberg and I heared scratching and crack!!! one part, like an inch caved in and there is also aslight dent and several scratches that peeld of the red color and now are black. Does any of you have the idea what is the best way to fix this and not pay dealer like $800? it is way too cold to go out now and check how the lip is attached to the car, by bolts or brackets? this realy bothers me so any help is appriciated!

I think the side skirt is just like 3m taped on but I could be wrong.

Ya I agree, If you could post some pics that would help.

Did it just damage the skirt, or do you think it damaged the body too? I hate winter!!

Happy freakin' Friday....more training classes at work, bores me to death.......but took the Spicy to work.......fun, fun, fun......still need to find a decent tune for this cold ass weather, but the car feels great. Getting my alignment tomorrow, thinking about -2.5 front and -1.25 rear camber......

I hate training.

I'm currently still in troubleshoot mode, and am finding more and more information as to why this wasn't our fault. My head is currently spinning tho.

-2.5 and -1.25 should be a perfect combo for Spicy. That's actually what I ran on my Protege on Forza 3. Haha.

^I love that game. I have 3 versions of the Familia. Stock, slightly tuned (basically my car specs), and all out. All out is rediculous in that car and can't hardly controlany aspect of it.

I like playing that the night or morning before a SCCA event. It's like porn, it gets me in the mood. lol

I'm wading thru more s*** again. More questions, less information. Looks like I may miss my thing tonight.

yes sir i do have an upgraded front sway bar as well :D

Well that kinda sucks, I figured with my car a front and read upgrade would keep the car feeling the same just with less roll. Now I am a bit concerned that if I don't do springs at the same time she is gonna drive like crap.

Larry, I know I have a different platform, but I just upgraded my RSB and my car feels great through the corners. It's weird having a neutral feeling FWD car. I'm sure you'll be fine with just upgrading the rear sway. Baby steps. :)

I have the full AWR setup for the rear and I love it over the stock racing beat. The only downfall for putting it on was 3 of the 4 welded nuts on the rear cross member broke off. So I had to stickmy skinny ass arm up in the center hole with a box wrench and put a new nut on them. Totally worth it though.

Any rear sway bar upgrade will significantly change the feel of a FWD car. Finding the balance of keeping it neutral is the key. The MSP bar on a Protege with non-MSP front bar is the most balanced, my opinion of course. I have the AWR 21.5mm at the stiffest position, and it's tail happy... moreso than the Progress 22 at times.

Next week I should have the matching trailing arms to go with it. Can't wait to scare the cones this year.

yea! finished the front suspension today.
