The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Morning.....all this talk of wheel painting has me itching to paint the steelies. I was thinking bronze but may go with green for s**** and giggles....

That's not a problem at all, I don't blame you for not wanting to stink up the basement lol. I might try to paint the wheels myself in my parents' garage and see how it turns out. If it sucks, I'll just re-do them in the spring if we have a wheel painting party. The wheels aren't amazing so if I screw them up, whateva lol.

Hmmmm....gold would look nice to.... Was even contemplating doing a little Harlequinn on the wheels...one green, one blue, one yellow, one red....lol I'm not as worried about the quality as they are my winter wheels and will get mucked up anyway.

That would look hilarious!! Someone needs to photoshop it!! haha

My RX8s are my summer wheels, so I want them to look as good as possible. I really just care that the wheels look good from 5 feet away lol.

It would be and I'd only run them one season that way...would def. get some looks. lmao

I hear ya...if I was painting the MX-5 wheels I'd be anal about it or just pony up the money to get them powder coated.

I originally planned on getting them powder coated, but I can't justify spending $200 on wheels that are fairly used and beat up.

I would rather just save up and buy a nice set of light wheels that are already the color I want.

Good, I didn't want to ****** do it anyway. I was just going along with the spirit of volunteering "Lewis Motorsports" for anything anyone needs, and wanted to volunteer before you did so that it didn't look like I didn't care about anyone.

I'm perfectly fine with not painting anything until... July to be honest. Hahaha. I bloody hate cleaning up after that s***. Hell, the basement floor in the laundry area is going to need repainted before we leave anyway. There's a fuckton of bronze tint all over the floor.

You just worry about "Timko Motorsports" and leave LMS to me, buddy. haha

Yeah, I need to clean up the black paint from the valve covers in the basement too. That's the reason why I said no paint in the house in the winter because just the two valve covers stank up the entire house for 3 days. I can't imagine 4 sets of wheels down there. We'd be tripping ballz.

But most certainly we'll have a spring mod party where everyone can swap their wheels, paint them, and go back to summer mode. And we'll fire up the grill again.

literally!!

anyone want to hear my drama? drove over to my 2nd job last night in the snow storm only to find out they didn't need me and neglected to let me know that - ugh. then drove home and proceeded to get stuck trying to get INTO the driveway - i was hung up on the snow under the car (damn that hellaflushness)... wouldn't/couldn't budge so i was half in/half out of the driveway. marlon tried to help, then a kind man who happened to be driving by stopped to help and we finally got it out - then he proceeded to shovel my driveway so that we could get the car in. in the meantime, with all the rocking back and forth and getting frusterated with the wheels spinning, my car overheated. the temp would drop down at idle, then spike back up ... we let it sit overnight. this morning tried to get marlons car out of the driveway to no avail. big ice chunks behind the 'one wheel peel' and i was hacking away at it with a crow bar until marlon said to give it up. we got in my car to go to work and it was taking a long time to heat up, but then when it did, it really heated up! the engine i mean, the gauge went above H but it was still freezing in the car. we'd drive 1/2 a mile, then stop to let it cool down, then drive again, then stop ... did that about 4 times and finally made it to montrose. they gave us a hyundai suv loaner to take to work. as we were leaving the tech said it was just a nipple that came off or something to that effect, it'll be fixed later today for around $100 ... so we head off to work and THEN i get pulled over on rockside road because the cop couldn't see the dealer plate in the back (tinted) window behind the windshield wiper. he was nice about it. i told him i worked right down the road and i'd screw it on when i got there. finally made it to work at 1030a and i think we left the house at 830a. DRAMA!!!

i guess i should be glad that the sun is shining and it wasn't blizzarding out while all this was going on ... but still .. what next??

Damn Lauri...that's crazy. At least you were able to get in safe and sounds and the repairs aren't that bad. Must have been damaged during your plowing the night before. :) And that sux about your second job....I had that happen to me twice last year at mine....both mornings I got there only to see my boss locking the gate and saying 'oops, I forgot to call you'....thankfully it's only 10 minutes away from home.

Lauri sounds like a great time. I guess my day wasn't as bad, I went to work and almost got stuck pulling out of the drive had to go back and forth 3 times to finally get out. Then got to work and plowed ice/snow for 8hrs. had my cracked windshield fixed while at work from a stone that hit it on the way home from Daytona. Then got highsided pulling into my drive. I got home at 3:30 and finally got the car into the garage at 5:30 I spent 2hrs clearing the driveway. God I Love Winter!!!

Levi gave me that idea while I was in China. Hahaha.

Yeah...and your driveway isn't necessarily short either.

OK, well depending on the roads and the weather, Spicy is coming home this Friday. Rick is going to give me the dyno sheets and I'll scan and post them up. I will also take pics of the work for all to see. Also, we'll have some in car video from VIR when we return to Ohio.

Also, I forgot who asked me about having Big 3 install the SS AFC, it takes them a couple of hours to do it.Their labor rates are $70 per hour....

I'm excited to see the pics, are you still on stock injectors and fuel pump or have you upgraded those?
