I assumed that our '24 S Select would get at least close to the rated figures by Mazda. I was shocked to see that a mix of hilly city/freeway driving only granted 21.5MPG for our CX-5 over the course of almost a full tank of fuel. I realize that all wheel drive vehicles lose an average of 2MPG vs FWD, but this seems off a bit too much. It's got 17,500 miles and we only ever use top tier fuel. Oil changes every 4K miles and I stay on top of the air filter needs. It drives great, has good power, and it purrs at idle. Tire pressures are good, too.
