tunersteve's 2011 Mustang GT thread

It's safely tucked away in the heated garage for now. Won't see any more duty until the roads dry up again.

Update:

Ordered a set of Redline Quicklifts and a Steeda CAI/tune package. I'm going to run their tune to start, and I may end up getting a Brenspeed or Livernois tune later on. Hood struts will be here Monday, intake/tune later next week.

I've given some thought into powdercoating the MAF housing and heat shield of the intake (see below). Thinking of doing a satin black MAF housing and trying to match the paint for the heat shield. Going to pick up some stealth clamps from Sure as well, to help keep it downplayed.

I'm also contemplating painting the coil covers Ford blue, like the Boss 302 has. I think it would add enough color in the engine bay to really make it look good.

soo clean I envy you. My 5.0 looks like ass compared to that but I got enough parts on the bench that it will clean it up some but not enough. Ford blue (baby blue) or the dark for blue (blue)? I like the idea. So sad to see they kept the crappy expansion tanks for the radiator. The 98 has the same style and they crack all the time.

found you again steve :P... from the other forum... any who, i took your advice, got the SCT Tuner, woke that car UP.. also put on the Bassani exhaust.. man..... i loved the speed 3, but damn this puts that car to shame.....

Steeda CAI and SCT tuner are here. Installed them Friday, but ran into a small issue when the tune that was provided caused the ECU to lock up, rendering the car unable to start. After a few emails with SCT, they provided a recovery file to get it back to stock, and the parts came off until Steeda can review their tune and correct the errors.

On top of that, I was asked by a local shop to use my car for testing. Ford Racing is going to install a Stage 1 power pack on the vehicle, and I'm going to dyno before and after to show the results. The before dyno is on 87 octane, so I expect a little lower than normal numbers (I typically run 93 in it). I hope to have pics/video up later this week.

While this is going on, I'm going to send the Steeda CAI out for paint/powdercoat. I think the shield is going to be painted to match the car, and the velocity stack and clamps done in a satin black (as I previously mentioned). I'll get that back and hopefully get it on the car in the next 7-10 days. Stay tuned for more!
