ryan lives in co but visits dallas regularly and has been an active member on dfwmazdas for a long time.... last years cruize cost me around 2000 lol. car still runs ok though.

i wasent saying he wasent a active member or that he dosent visit dallas... what i was getting at is he voted and is not going to the meet is what i meant....if he was going then it would be a different story but any ways it dont matter any more...and for last years costing you 2k that sucks man...aslong as its running

Regardless of where it will be, if we all pull together we can make it a great event. I agree that having to travel for a meet can get real expensive real fast if one isn't careful. Wherever the meet is at my girl and I will try and go. If it's in SA of course it'll be easy if it's in Dallas we'll try and save up the money to go. I think we all agree that it'll be harder for whoever has to travel.

Well heres the deal. Not everyone can make SA. This guy from CO can make it to
Dallas, but he can't afford SA. Its a much longer drive for him. So if its held
in Dallas theres a 90% more chance he will make it. What about the guys voting
from Tulsa or OKC? Should we discredit them too? I know for a fact some of them
can make Dallas. Those guys come down here for meets when they can afford. Are
we going to discredit them as well since they cant make a SA meet but they can
make a Dallas meet?
What if the guy I work with that owns a MS6 decides to vote. We can't both be
off at the same time. You have to get special permission for that. Maybe he
wants to come and will try to work it out, but should he be discredited since we
might not be able to pull that off? I mean theres a lot of variables here. So
don't count out someone just because they can't make it to SA.
I would be down for Austin really. I love the Blues and music scene. Austin is a
great fun place to be as well. I wouldn't mind if it went there, but thats not
what this vote is about. I'm sure that not everyone who votes for SA is going to
make Dallas, or can necessarilly afford the trip. I know it would cost me in
upwards of 300 to make it to SA or even Austin. I plan to go out that night, and
not drive back drunk. So give guys a chance, don't just throw them out for that
crap?

It all depends on what the intention is. If they are trying to make the meet but can't because they can't afford a road trip that far its one thing. If they have no intention of ever going then thats different. Some of these guys from up further north than me would love to make the meet. But they cant drive from OKC to SA reasonably. They can and do make Dallas meets. I know you understand what I am saying.

On a side note again, I wouldn't mind going to Austin for the music scene. I think it would be great fun.

I understand both sides here, but this arguing isnt getting us anywhere. I will tell you all flat out that the only way I could definitely make a meet is if we were having it in houston. I get 3 weeks vacation every year, but seldom get to take it. my schedule changes by the minute and I never have any idea of what it is going to do.

missed last year because of a new client who had to have all of his work done 5 minutes ago. missed the year before that because I had to go offshore for a client facing a failure (not bp). left early last time in dallas because my weekend crew couldn't pull their heads out of their asses to do their jobs.

if you want too talk tough schedules, 60 hours a week is a stroll through the park for me. that means I still get weekends off. 70 to 80 is a solid week (still get 1 to 2 days off that way). days or nights? I work it all. sometimes switch between the two twice a week. being the only income in the house is also not that great on being able to do what I want either.

I will still try my ass off to make it, wherever it is.

thats why i say lets just scrub SA and Dallas and have it on netural terrritory in Houston with all the bickering that is going on i dont feel it will be a good time if its held in either SA or Dallas....since its never been in Houston lets have it there

i was thinking this too last night, reward houston. i dont want another poll and i can only speak for myself but i think its the best bet for salvaging a successful statewide meet.
