i f*cking hate the open door chime. i do.
i want to be able to keep my doors open and keep the stereo going without hearing that pain in the ass chime.
how do i do this?
if i knew where the speaker was i'd happily disable it..

what pin would that be? are you referring to a pin that is depressed when the door is shut? i'd still like the interior lights and all to work as they do when the door is opened. or maybe a wiring pin that runs through the connects? if i knew more about where the wires run it would be simple, but i'm afraid that's the info i need. thanks though, it's a start!

it runs thru their reg speakers just disable the pin in the door and no more chime simple good luck

theres no pin, or plunger style switch in the door jam on these cars, the door switch is built into the latch/door lock actuator ass'y inside the door

the warning chime is integral to the gauge cluster, no way to disable it with out interfering with other systems

@ ms3_kidd - thanks and s***! it's good to know i shouldn't mess with it. that will save me some time and the expense of replacing what i mess up. too bad though, i hate that chime.

Yep. It is integrated with the BCM (body control module). The same chime operates as the hazard/turn signal chime, and any beep chime the car has. It is CAN actuated. Mine goes off with the door open with key in ignition, turn and hazard light on, TPMS warning, etc.

The BCM is quite expensive and not something I suggest messing with.

i been looking at some wiring diagrams and there may be one way to disable it, but im trying to figure out what other circuits might be affected

You have to look at the body control module, which affects all of the exterior and interior lighting, HVAC, radio, cruise, (anything not related to the motor or trans). I think the chime is on the IC board inside the module. All it is is a speaker that is soldered into the board. The BCM circuit makes the separate noises.

i can assure you the chime is not in the BCM, it is in the instrument cluster which holds the gauge control module. the BCM is built into the passenger junction box and that is not the vicinity where the chime is heard coming from. the instrument cluster makes the warning chime.

s*** sorry man i used you have a b2200 low rider on bags and thats what i did so i just figured that they might be the same i hate it as well

yeah and my 83 rx7 litterally has a 2 inch buzzer wired in under the dash and it is so obnoxious, ill be cutting it out one of these days. but as for these newer cars theyre sure not as easy as older ones were to modify things like this lol

The new cars integrate the ECU with everything now. Makes it easier to plug the scan tool in to pull codes. Makes it more difficult to change things. I had one car in the shop that the interior lights and parking lights refused to work. Owner had tapped into a low voltage wire that controlled the parking light circuit for power for a neon bulb under the dash. ECU saw a extra draw on the circuit and turned off the BCM/ETACS. That is what the CAN system can do.
