Great work, Phil; very resourceful. Sounds good, too. (thumb)

Dave: How big a core did you pick up? I'm thinking about doing a custom FMIC next summer and I'm going over my options. Have you looked at the Altered Customs piping kit?

Thanks. I think the main thing here was that people on a budget (me), can go out and get stuff for a substantially less amount than what some vendors/shops want. I mean a CAI from various vendors range in prices, but SU wants over $350 for a CAI...that's nuts!
I'm gonna check the diameter size when I get home and get a comparison from say the CPe Fujita and K&N. The design for the most part seems to be the same. I believe a better filter instead of the current ebay one will improve performance...If I get the best filter $ can buy, maybe total invested would be less than $80...

You should look at AEM or Amsoil, get a dryflow much easier to maintain vs an oiled one. Thats what i'm looking to pick up next week to replace the cobb one.

not including the end tanks its 18"x3.5"x6.5" with 2.5" inlets/outlets

i've looked at their kit.. but it will require a new intake, and going to ebay to buy a piece of pipe with the flange for the stock bpv

Wait so Cobb filter is an oiled one. I need to clean it? or replace it?

IDK what to do. What do people typically do?

Cleaning it is fairly easy. Just get the K&N kit for ten bucks or so. Remove the filter, spray the cleaner on, hose off, let completely dry, and spray on the oil. I usually do it a few times a year on car washing days.
