exhaust manifold stud/bolts confusion... what did you buy? need fast answer...

Dorman/AutoGrade bagged 38 mm. overall length, M8 - 1.25 x 18 mm. and M8 - 1.25 x 17 mm. class 10.9 double ended stud with 3 mm. shoulder

Part Number:
675-339.1

Is this what i'm looking for?

I had bolts/studs fall out and replaced them with grade 10.9 bolts (M8 x 1.25) from autozone and its worked fine ever since, and the reason they fell out in the first place is because when mazda worked on my car they didn't replace the studs they used the same stretched out studs from the factory. and to top it off the Mazda Tech at the local stealership is a complete moron.

i found all 9 replacement studs for a T2 turbo at O'Really's and the manager assured me that the studs were grade 10.9 but they're silver in color i thought all dorman 10.9 studs were black or gold colored? Any input anyone?

all the grade 10.9 stuff i used was black... and i would not have expected autozone to have those, it took me some time to locate them, and i never checked there.

Gonna go take a look. As to your original post, yes two are studs but one came out on my motor. May as well do all of them studs and nuts or just all bolts.

Its my belief they studded two on each to hold the mani up to make it easier to install. IDK.

yep, I assume the same. My mani is installed with all bolts... no studs talk about pita to get everything to thread in propperly and not cross thread. no one local had the proper stud lenghts

if u want the studs to stay in, use red loctite on the end going in the head and that SHOULD keep it from coming out, doesnt always work though

when i did mine, i used OEM studs and nuts. the nuts are self-locking and will not come off the stud once you get them on (so make sure youre threading them on the proper side), but they really help get the stud in nice and tight. id imagine regular (non-self-locking) nuts wouldnt tighten them in the same.
