TPMS on, tires fine ???

:
06 LS MS6
07 BM GT (shell has been struck from the roll)
coming in to work today, the tpms started winking on and off. not a steady flash, more like it was reading a pressure fluctuating at the trip point. after a half mile of that it stayed on steady. hit the first station and all four tires are right at 38psi.

Soooo, what failed ? the system has woked well in the past, no issues with the tirres in quite awhile

check the manual?
beeping = PSI
Flashing - Beeping = other

No TPMS sensor in the spare. 38 psi will trigger the TPMS. Set 'em at recommended pressure.

Mine did just that. I had aired up the tires on a very cold morning. A few days later, we were in the 70s. My TPMS started fussing, so I checked the tires. They were way over -- 38/35 as I recall. I waited 'til they were cold again and aired 'em down. TPMS hasn't triggered since.

38 is a perfectly reasonable pressure to run. I've yet to find any definitive information about the parameters of the system. Seems pretty ridiculous that Mazda doesn't just tell you the acceptable values in the manual.

To name just one of many reasons, when you're running a radically different wheel/tire setup than stock.

It still says to keep the air pressure at what the car manufacture states and not what the tire manufacture states......

Well to update the trouble, and pointedly ignore the pressure war, it was a transient self resolving fault. that same day when I moved my car at 3pm it was on. when I left that nite, it flashed a few times, no beeps, and stayed on. next day it was off, and has stayed that way

glitchety(bolt)

Mine does that on rare occasion. No beeping, just flashes for a short while. It's a random reminder to get the tire gauge out. :D

Right!

the slow leak I had awhile back did amazing things for my tire maintene

now thats fixed, tires are something I concern myself with when watching F1

This happened to me a while back. Light turned on and I checked tire pressure but all tires were fine. Next day light was off and stayd off. Don't know what that was all about. The only thing I remember doing to the car before that happened was a wash. I doubt water has anything to do with it.

actually, it does, there is a old tsb in which the rain sensing wipers interes with the tpms

My TPMS light has been on for the last 25k miles. Might have something to do with the stock wheels sitting on the garage floor. Hehheh.

I have the Sport version not GT. So no rain sensing wipers for me. I also wash her every week for over a year now and haven't triggered the tpms sensor since then. Weird stuff(shrug)
