I joined this wonderful forum a couple of years ago, but never took the time to make an intro thread - D'oh! (bang)

So, here's my belated attempt: I purchased a slightly used (and really clean) 2007 Mazda5 Sport for my wife (we previously had "his and hers" Scion xB's, but she wanted something a bit larger). Here's a group shot, which shows my daughter's 2009 Mazda3 (before some jerk decided to blow through a red light and total it, but that's a another story):

It was a great vehicle, but I wanted to get her something with a few more "bells and whistles", and so the opportunity to get a 2009 GT with 8900 miles and pretty much everything but Navi presented itself...

I promise I'll be a more contributing member, please let me stay. Please?

I wonder why somebody would sell their Mazda5 after only 8,900 miles?

Anyway, looks nice! The Mazda5 doesn't come with tint so it was added at some point. Any idea what the tint level is?

I wondered that as well, but it had a clean Carfax and it's certified. I believe the window tint may be in the 35% range. It's definitely not a DIY job, and with all those windows, I don't imagine it was cheap to do.

The windows were actually tinted all around (if you look closely, you can see the tint on the small window on the front door). As I dwell in California, tint on the front windows is a no no, plus the wife didn't like it anyway. So I had them remove the tint, but man, did it look nice.

Honestly, if my fiancee hadn't taken mine off my hands I would've sold mine too at a very early mileage. We were driving around the other day and riding shotgun feels like you're riding offroad. The suspension is just too tight for me. In fact, it really annoyed the hell out of me having to ride with her and eventually asked her to take me home so that I could rest from the abuse I was taking. If you take a test drive on a nice smooth road, like I did, you will quickly learn after it's bought that in parking lots and beat up roads you will need better health insurance. It's just not my style. That said, I still love having one in the family for its utility and for cramming tons of people in. Once it's full, it's pretty smooth.

Have you ever sat in the 2nd row? Seeing as I almost always drive, maybe I just forgot the feeling of sitting in the back. During a long trip last month, I sat back there to watch a DVD. Incredibly harsh. My friend didn't say anything while he watched DVDs but maybe he's just a nice guy. When I replace my tires most likely next summer, I'll be looking for softer and possibly taller sidewall "touring" tires...

To tell the truth, I haven't spent much time in the 2nd row of a M5 (either this one or the previous one we had), so I can't attest to the harshness. But then, my daily has 18's with 35 series tires and a 2" drop, so anything feels smooth to me!

I have to say the thing that I liked the most about the 2010 was the fact that they removed the side marker lights from the front fenders (looks cleaner IMO), but then, that gives me a reason to get those spiffy looking chrome side marker trim rings (I have some JDM units that are similar on my Scion).

On another note, you all have some really funny smilies on this site, they make me laugh (but then, I'm easily amused).

I think it feels great in the 3rd row. It's the front that is uncomfortably bumpy for me. I have noticed with a lot of weight in the back that the front end comes up and is a lot smoother. Again, I"m not knocking it because it sucks or anything because it actually rides pretty nice when it's loaded up. When there are on two in the front and the back is empty, it's punitively uncomfortable in my opinion.
