So I traveled to New Jersey this weekend for my best friends wedding and my STI got jacked! (Stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott, Princeton/South Brunswick, 4225 US Highway 1 P.O. Box 8388, Princeton, New Jersey 08543.)

Was in the process of getting ready for the wedding reception, when I heard my car alarm going off? Looked out the window and some guy hotwiring my whip. I was literally in my boxers and ran outside. I tried to grab the car door handle and it was locked, so I banged on the glass etc... but the guy got it started and pulled out of the spot. My wife was freaking out, and the guy actually had another guy with him that sped off behind him in an Acura TSX? The most surreal thing it was in the middle of the day, like 6pm? Had to call 5.0, file a report, call the insurance, etc

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up and let you know to be careful if traveling in this area. Luckily lots of folks were there from College that we knew, so we were able to get a ride back to the DC area this afternoon.

Here are a few photos & the specs on the car; I assume it stripped down by now. Now I gota deal with all the headache of working with the insurance and my bank on the appraisal. LOL

sorry to hear about that. I know how it feels, I had my old teggy with bolt ons, springs and I had a nice turbo setup in the mail when mine was stolen from a gas station. The car was found the next day but it was pretty much stripped by the time it was found. After that, I almost picked up a 98 Supra single turbo from a private seller but it was vandalized in the guys front yard. so, here I am several years later with my first boosted car, my MSP. I should have kept the turbo kit that I was going to put on my teggy and just pick up another teg.

Wow, sorry to hear, man. That's a crazy situation, not sure what I would do. I would be going nuts...

What kind of security (kill switches, fuel cut, etc...) did you have?

Not only is that effin' horrible to begin with -- but to know you came THAT close to saving the car from being stolen? I probably would've flung myself across the trunk without even thinking.

Hopefully you scared the guy enough that he might just dump it somewhere, and spare it the stripping. Keep us posted!

Thanks all for the kind words. Just even more reason to be careful when you travel, go to shows, etc...

I have replayed it over and over in my head and come up with a million "I should have done this when he was stealing it" but in all honesty it all just happened so fast. He def was a pro, my alarm probably only honked like 3-4 times. I didn't have any kill switches, fuel shutoff, etc... It was just a daily driven STI that I worked hard for and is now gone.

Def makes not have much ambition to even modify a car in the near future.

Anyone can say i would have done this in your situation etc...etc.. But until you are faced with that exact situation you don't know your actions... 3-4 Honks and you were at the door! Pretty good in my book! So sorry to hear about this :( I definitely feel for ya after seeing that modd list.

i figured they would have had some sort of safety precaution like programmed keys and things in these.

Sux. Lucky for the guy that you didn't also grab something to put a few rounds in him. That's about the only thing that will stop the Pro thiefs provided that you can get em in your sights.

I'd post this on TriStateTuners.com if you haven't already.

s***, man that sucks. I would be soo pissed if i saw someone in my car and i was running after it in my boxers. They were probably following u around. For them to jack it in the middle of the day. Petty fuckers. Sorry buddy.

Ugh, bro this story makes me feel sick. So sorry...hope you get her back, or at least that these guys get hit by a bus.

Hindsight is 20/20. Just learn from it for the future. Next time invest in anti-theft devices. Layered security is the only way to deter theft, to make it take as long as possible to steal.

Good luck with the recovery & insurance battle, bro!
