How To: Blue (or other color) Gauge Cluster Lights AND AC controls

couple of problems i am working out now...

-2 of the LEDs started flickering so I am going with a new set of LEDs and not some cheap chinese made ones. I am going to have to rewire but it is worth it since i want it to be perfect.
just bought these 8mm blue leds

-some of the light is coming out from the top of the speedo cluster ring. not very noticeable but it still bothers me.

-waiting on my white LEDs to fully test the ability to keep the needles red.

i imagine white LED's will give you exactly what you are looking for. the white on the blue sheet behind the numbers should make those blue, and the white onto the needles should make those red.

I'm just waiting on the white LEDs in the mail now...

here are some quick snap shots of the gauges currently. no hot spots and the needles are kinda orange. red+yellow light = orange... it'll look sweet with the white

wow, its amazing how you can never think of an idea until someone else mentions it lol

it never occurred to me to run extra leds from the dimmer switch source. cant wait to fix my burn spots

Thanks!

Lol I'll attempt it myself. Might look for an extra cluster for practice so i don't ruin mine.

here is where i am at now...

-the 8mm LEDs work perfectly. none of them flickered none of them were faulty. I used 10 so far which wasnt enough. Im adding 10 more tomorrow to get rid of all the hot spots.

-the white wedge LEDs dont work in the cluster. I believe there is a relay for the cluster and the LEDs arent drawing enough power to complete the circuit. I am ordering red 8mm leds now to light up the needles.

lucky for you guys i am figuring all this crap out by trail and error and when i finish, it will be easy for you.
