What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

car is all stock besides wheels and coil overs.
should be trading her in on a subie this weekend hopefully

any tips on...?
A) getting the rear shocks out... I paid a shop to do it last time, the quoted me 2 hrs and it took them 6 hrs or something. i need these things off.
B) not breaking my damn lug key... waiting for the new one to show up as we speak. Muteki lug key has broken 3 times, cant afford (time-wise) for it to break again.

Thanks if you guys have any tips.

I have my MS6 and a WRX...I don't blame you for trading if it is for a daily driver.
On the rear Shocks, it's not that hard with the right parts and you take your time....get some crows feet "sockets" that's how I get em out.
On the lugs...Never use an impact, ever....sorry it's lame but it's how I never break or damage ANY of my cars lugs....Obviously this means never letting anyone else touch them..So, yeah.

gave her a nice polish and wax yesterday

I had to edit the teaser text out of your post. It was throwing off the thread on mobile browsers as well as Opera and Chrome.

I have those wheels on my MS6 as well. They're light. The face polish looks fantastic; and they're pretty affordable, too!

Unfortunately, the factory clear coat on mine was flaking and chipping off after 5 months. I was pretty upset about it. They look pretty awful now, but would still be a great set of track wheels.

i knew there might be a little bit of an "edit" its cool. and yes i loves these wheels. sux about your clears flaking off. i bought mine from discount tire and have a 1 year warrenty on the finish and lifetime on structual.

Hey, has anyone put the 17X8" OEM FD wheels on a 1st gen 6? Can't seem to find it searching the forum.

put on a 300mm concaved RAZO rear view mirror today. Love it! I can see out the rear side windows by this.

Put on smoked rear corners. Going to find some time this weekend to wire them as turn signals, and do the brake light mod that I've been talking about doing for over a year.

Also, ordered some Hawk ceramic pads for the front, and went ahead and drilled out the rotor screws while I rotated the tires so when the pads arrive things can go a little more smoothly. The pads have worn a lip into the rotor, so I'm going to pull them off and see if they can be turned. If not, I'll have to hold off a bit and get some new rotors.

Will do. The only thing I dont like is the vibs from my car making it look like it is shaking even more than it is.

hahaha i had the same problem.. im hoping to fix that though.. ill pm you the details on what could help us fix that..

Been looking into it, and I've decided I'll be getting into the NASA racing series next year. I need some time to get the vehicle up to snuff (sadly, it won't be the MS6) but it's something that if you're looking to step up from autocross, it sounds like a great alternative. You start as an HPDE-1, which means you ride with the instructor in your car, but you can move up and have full reign of the track with some practice.

I have a lot of time with the garage to myself, so the remaining lower portion of the airbox is going back on, the stock D2S bulbs are going back in, and the AWR mount is coming off when I get an extra set of hands to help out.

and the whiteline ???? lol.

washed it, waxed the new wheels, and shined the tires. after the ~1600 miles I've put on it over the last 2 weeks, it's BEGGING for a nice long clay and wax... wish it wasn't so damn hot out.

I didn't get side swiped this afternoon. And it didn't put the car into the concrete barrier on the interstate.
