No. It wouldnt.

Yeah... it kinda sucks.

But the cool thing is, I can start a new fad with the total rusted car mod! Complete with hole in the drivers side floor, which is good for soaking the carpet in the winter.

got plans for a roof cap?

Ya, not sure how/what I wanna do, tho...

wrapping the top is so much cheaper than a stupid cap. lol

^What he said. Those iSport CF roof caps are sexy, but too much $$. I just need to do my homework on vinyls and other options.

I'm not sure how the 3M CF stuff will look. Even the VIS CF hood I had on b4 didn't match the weave of the DG grille I have. I love how seemlessly/perfectly the weave matches on my DG hood & DG grille now. Makes it look so much better in person! So I'm not sure how the 3M CF wrap will look when it's used with the legit CF hood & trunk. I might buy some to play with and decide if I want to go that route or not...

^^^ for realz UCMP3!!! if you got a cf roof cap or even did an overlay of some form you would be set!

I think it will look badass, as well. I may end up just doing a flat black vinyl instead; if 3M wrap doesn't work out. Does anyone else make a faux CF vinyl? Where are some good places to buy vinyl from? I've never laid vinyl b4, it's easy right? A heat gun and time is all it takes?

Looks good, like the CF and Yellow

Thx, bro! :)

I dont think the 3m stuff would look right... its very dull where your actual cf is shiny. I have a gloss black vinyl and on my roof and it looks pretty good with my cf hood. Theres a guy on the forum that sells different vinyls for this particular job and the stuff he has works great and its cheaper than most places i priced it from. he has it in flat and gloss black

thats true, making sure its the same look.

But definately not if someone was walking by ur car and saw: CF hood... flat black roof...CF TRUNK(boom01).

or comign from the other way.

CF trunk... flat black roof...CF HOOD(boom01).

flat/satin black seems best imo, the di-noc s*** is ehhhh

Ya, I go back and forth like every other day about whether or not I'm ok with the 3M stuff... I've still never seen it in person, so idk...

nah dont go flat black. if your not gonna go all CF dont do it IMO.

I think satin black vinyl is looking like my bottom b**** for the roof, currently... I think black vinyls (flat or satin) look very good as "roof caps."

you should do a chrome roof cap (crazy)

You're posts lately are so very helpful & insightful.

Ya, I'm feeling the same way. I think aside from the finish, just the weave itself will look cheap and crappy when compared to the real thing.

Ya, idk. We'll see. I won't be doing this right away anyways, I have several other projects I need to finish first. So I'll have time to think about my options...

thanks :D

seriously, a chrome roof cap would be the most functional. since its a cap, adding it would NOT save weight, so why do carbon fiber. and if you're going to add vinyl, add something that will give some function. chrome will reflect the heat of the sun, keeping your interior cooler.

so....

you should get a chrome roof cap.

^^^ ha ha he makes a point plus it would give you 20 style points

but heres an old pic that you can kinda see the gloss black roof with my cf hood... i will try to find a better pic later
