trans issue, litterally just happened

:
2003 Spicy Orange MSP, boosted Miata dead and parted
so i was accelerating in 1st normally, shifted into 2nd and then boom. no more gear. the car will engage the gear fine, but if i give it gas(5% or more) in any gear it just revs up and makes a grinding noise

so the question is did i blow
Clutch?
Trans?
Diff?
any combo of the 3?

what do you guys think
 
im gonna go with diff, going into gear means clutch is good, and more than likely not tranny if you can still get into the gears as well. not 100% but yea thats my thought
 
yeah, thats exactly what happened to me. I wasn't being 'nice' but I wasn't on it or anything either. start pullin the trans out now. lol

**** that lol i got s*** to do, i'll pay extra for a shop to do it and save me time and energy, + they'll cover their work.

EDIT: S-unit has the factory one welded for 529.99(596 with seals and main shaft bearing) free shipping. any objections? i want the car to run reliably but don't wanna spend 700 just for the diff...

I'm actually gonna go with the revised MSP diff but welded and get an exedy stage 1 and have speed circut put it in.
 
something similar happen to me recently...Im suspecting either the diff or my flywheel. It grabs it barely when I try to go in reverse but when im in 1st or 2nd nothing..doesnt move rmps keep moving up and I feel a slight tug.

Diff or fly? or both?
 
do you hear a horrible, horrible horrible grinding noise when the car is in gear and you go to give it gas while its in gear?

UPDATE: car is getting worked on at Speed Circuit by Dino and i'm awaiting it back. will up date again when the car is back
 
dude if ur gonna go with the revised and welded then u should just get the mfactory. its around the same price for a quality part.

I heard a horrible clunk and scrapping noise when I was driving before my car stopped wanting to move. But when I got the car towed to my apartment it managed to barely grab and go in reverse by it self... and as for when I put it in gear right now and try to move forward nothing happens.
