trans issue, litterally just happened

if ur buying a new lsd then u dont want to get a non updated one. ull just blow it again if u plan to make any power. i say spend the extra 75 bucks and get the mfactory. if u dont u will kick urself in the ass later.

the "update" is just a weaker power transmission. technically the ones that were before the update are more effective.

The Mfactory may or may not (I don't know) be functionally superior to the stocker, but as long as its welded a new stock LSD is just as reliable as anything else out there.

I don't get why SU is cheaper then CrossOver...How does the MFactory perform compared to the Updated LSD?

I had my clutch replaced about more then a year ago and just had the flywheel resurfaced...just replace that sucka with a new one? and readjust the clutch?

littlemimus is the only person I know of who has one in yet, and since he didn't locktite the bolts holding the ring gear on... his transmission pretty much detonated. so as far as performance, I don't know if anyone can say definitively, but it SHOULD be much better than a torque-sensing viscous type...

clutch is hydralic, so theres nothing to adjust, but you can replace it if you want. unless theres more than prb 50K on it I wouldn't bother.

His transmission detonated with the MFactory installed? Did he buy his from CrossOver? I wonder how much would the install time be for the LSD and Flywheel total? SO when the shop gives me an estimate I can compare

well, if you have the ring gear seperate from the diff... it doesn't matter what you have... short of a transmission case made of unobtanium...

yeah. lol the differential didnt fail. i didnt know i was supposed to locktite the bolts on the ring gear.

getting the car back tomorrow, from speed circuit the update diff welded is $625....thats much cheaper than the mfactory one. and since the only person that has an Mfactory diff has a blown trans....i think this one would be just fine. i'm not building this car, i'm just driving it and maybe really maybe an auto-x or 2

got the car back with the new diff and a new clutch. feels great. this 600mile break in period is gonna suck....apparently I had a 6puck sprung clutch in there. i hated it lol

I'm still waiting on th shop to get back to me on the exact problem(s)...if it's the LSD which I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the MFactory...and anything else I'll have to see... clutch/flywheel/tranny...I just hope not a lot went wrong in there..
