Speaking of which, you know how typically 3" exhaust are best for turbo, does the same apply to sc?

Actually, looking back on things, if I had known that my MSM would be... how it is, I probably would have gotten a different car. I was getting on an on-ramp the other day in 3rd and next thing I know, i was counter steering. Tail happy FTW.

That is true. A White Water Pearl one no less. It would have been the more sensible thing for me to do, but the Miata is a car that you can feel one with. Any input you give it, it will do.

i dont think so, cuz you only get a big exhaust with turbo to let the turbo spool up easier since its run off the exhaust,
a 2.5" would be better for SC since its run off the belts

On topic, a 2.5" should work well for now and if you go supercharged...as long as you aren't trying to get too crazy.

ahh, that makes sense, thanks simon. Yeah, I'm just going for mildly modified with the go fast stuff like the protege. No forge, trans work, etc so I'll just stick with a 60mm exhaust

no with SC you use NA logic basically. With a 3" SC exhaust your going to lose your torque. Most good miata bolt on exhaust for a car staying NA is 2.5"...ie flyin miata and roadster sport/Moss

FI vs NA exhaust...
I'll have to wait til I get home to post up the vids I have on YT.
Before I had the cat-back, I was running pretty much 3" DP to cat to pipe (no muffler)...it was LOUD.
Once I installed the TSudo cat-back, the car got REALLY quiet. Mostly due to my wife being a hater and not liking the exhaust being so loud (but she liked that sexy spool up of the turbo)...what can I say to that? The miata was a horrible DD anyway lol.
I'd like to take off the exhaust either way, because it seems the turbo doesn't spool quite as fast and it kinda stiffles the car a bit...I can't WAIT to have the Speed in a few weeks so I can go back to having a dumped exhaust again (probably have something fabbed up for a side port) so I can switch it back and forth for weekend driving w/the wife and the pending track bashings.
<3 having 'Bama tags...no emissions for the win.
