honestly though, any car is going to rust up here in new england. keep it clean for as long as you can, but if you get a scratch or a good dent, and don't touch it up, it is the beginning of the end.
washed my car once a week in the winter...didn't help my doors and engine bay eitherI own a 2006 MS6 that has been my daily driver for the entire time I have owned it (Since 2006). I have no signs of rust and I believe it is because of my attempt at keeping it clean.
I think the rust issue you see is dependent on how people take care of their cars.
yupI think P5s have a problem with rust in those areas in general.
not mine..doorsyeah, the rear fenders are especially problematic on the p5's.

I think my MS6 is doing well and hanging tough. Mostly because I detail it a lot and wash the undercarriage a lot.

hey victor! sorry to hear about the p5!the rust sucks indeed, but I don't think it's quite as bad as you describe.
enjoy the new ride! is it a stick?
I have a pair of hamann side skirts for that car, in silver, already painted. (three pics here, starting with this one). my buddy bought those for his silver 3-series sedan, but then sold the sedan before installing them. $100 if you want them.
Ditto! Although I love BMW, thought about getting one myself, it was the cost of ownership that kept me away in the long run. Not that an RX-8 is any better in terms of cost for maintenance, but the BMW would have been twice that and I had full warranty on a used Mazda. So we bought a VW instead....haha! Of course it was a Certified Pre-Loved car which means it came with a full warranty.
In any case, enjoy the car and we hope to see you.
I recall my friend's car was of your color... you are welcome to come and take a look at them if you are in the area.Yeah the car is stick, as i would not buy anything elseside skirts sound good but my car is not silver, it's called silver gray i think... still though 100 bux is a good price so i will think about it
