I think he meant $80 just for the two front windows. Correct???
PA has annual state vehicle inspections(scam, but whole different subject) and I have never had a problem getting my vehicles passed.
My CX9 is at 20% and the Altima 3.5SE is at 35% on all side windows. Only factory tint on windshield and rear window.
PA Motor Vehicle Code Ch. 45 75 Section 4524 (e)(1), (e) Sun screening and other materials prohibited. "No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sun screening device or other material which does not permit a person to see or view the inside of the vehicle through the windshield, side wing or side window of the vehicle"
But it's not strictly enforced. Most law enforcement will not stop you for tint alone, but may ticket you if stopped for another violation. I always have my windows down anyways when stopped so that the passenger compartment is viewable to the officer to minimizes suspicion. Unless it's pouring rain or we're in a blizzard.
Agreed....My neighbor is a state cop and a few years back he said to make sure when you get pulled over to roll down ALL WINDOWS to ensure the police office can see into the car. He even said this is true for factory tint.
By the way, I'm an ex-Michigander out here in Paterno land. I sure do miss Go Blue, smash mouth football.
I am a GROWN man. Not some gang banger driving a hooptie with 24's. LIKE I SAID I HAD A CX-7 PRIOR for 3 YEARS and not once was I ever questioned (have been pulled over before both by state and local). AND even if I am pulled over and asked to remove, I gladly will. It cost me a total of $80 to have this done. I think by what I am driving, I can afford a loss of that amount. Also almost EVERY "nice" car here has tinted windows. If I am driving like an A-Hole or a cop has suspicion that I am doing something illegal then he can use that to pull me over. Other than that, here in INDIANA I AM FINE. Thanks for worrying about me.
And NO we DO NOT HAVE inspections here in Indiana.
Me too....born and raised in Sterling Hts (north of Detroit)....I'd rather be stuck there in Paterno land (great coach btw) then here in Doomer Ville....
Hi All,
I just had mine tinted as well. What I didnt notice was how little tint there was when I first looked at the car at the dealership. I leased 3 crappy dodge minivans previous to this (my wifes drives them) and all the tint was nice and dark in the rear, the CX9 just looked really light in the rear sections after I got the car home. I tinted all the windows with the exception of the 2 fronts at 35% and the fronts at 20%.

Tint makes a world of difference, especially if your subjected to heat waves.. Looks good!
