What have you done to your MSP today?

I wonder what the actual weight savings is between the hood and fenders. The CF hood I have in my basement must weigh a solid 30-40lbs less than the stock one...
I don't think the stocker even weighs 30 lbs. if my scrawny ass can remove it alone and carry it around the back of a house it can't be that heavy.

lol... its been a while since I've carried a stock one around, but I'd be surprised if a hood and fenders saved 60-70lbs of weight up front. If I were serious about balancing out the car, I'd remote locate the battery to the back, take out power steering and AC... Bring the weight down and get the F/R balance closer to 50/50...

I'm pretty sure the cumulative difference between CF hood, trunk & fenders over oem parts, would be ~60 lbs, max...

Better off removing A/C and getting AAA, then removing your spare tire. (shrug)

Thank you for repeating what I already said... (toetap) Your ability to regurgitate things others say is overwhelming! (bang)

Read closer.

1. You said hood/fenders have a variance of 60-70 lbs. I said hood, fenders & trunk would have a maximum variance of 60 lbs. Not the same. I disagreed with you to an extent.

2. Moving the battery and switching ~25 lbs to the rear of the car (And adding a few lbs of power cable...) is not going to "balance" the weight distribution.

3. And you make no mention of removing the spare tire.

That is all.

You bunch of smug bastards.

He's trying to balance more weight toward the rear of the car (Look up our weight bias, you'll be amazed the car handles as well as it does given how bad the distribution is) so removing the spare would be counter productive. And no, it would not "balance" it, but that would be a 50 lb (25 lighter in front, 25 heavier in the rear) improvement, a 1.6% improvment. Which isn't something to consider irrelivant.

msp's could use a little less weight from the front, since the turbo parts add a little bit.

and doesnt everybody just love to be right? internet is serious you know.

You just thoroughly enjoy trying to argue. And acting like a prick at times

this is a place to share information. I feel its important that the information shared be accurate because others rely on and repeat it.

and as far as what have I done to my MSP today....well, I watched my (2nd) headunit spaz out and get stuck mid-way open/closed. *sigh* will try to reset it when I leave work...if not, time to shop for a replacement.
