HVAC knob light went out

The knob on the right hand side (auto climate) is no longer lit up for me. Is this a common problem? Or has anyone replaced this bulb yet? Thanks for the info in advance!

yeah, pretty common issue. my fan light (on the left) has been out for a while now...i'm just too lazy to pull apart the dash to replace it

I had two on the left out when I bought my car. I happened upon a post that was helpful. Replacements from the dealer are like $12. I went to radio shack and bought some 12v mini lamps. I think like a $1.50 each. They are just the bulb with fairly long wires. Pull your console and you will see the holders. Remove witha flat head screw driver. Pull out the bulbs and remove the red cover for use on the new ones. You will have to strip all of the wire on the new ones all the way to the bulb. Be careful becasue they are thin. Remove the glob of glue also by the bulb. Twist the wires and feed through the holes on the holder and wrap them around like the old one. You will have to cut them to length. It is very easy and simple.
