Hello all....longtime 247 member but new to the 3 section.

Yesterday we traded our 04 MPV ES in for a 3i touring in gunmetal blue. 'Blue' will be my wife's dd and I have a short 'mod' list - vent visors, snow shoes, thule rack. HID's are a maybe and I have been checking out corksport's site checking out the intake and exhaust....

Figured I'd go ahead and make this the official 'build thread' here on 247 as I realized I've posted it on other forums but not here?! So some of you may have seen this already....

If there is an award for most boring work log, this may just win. But I thought it'd be fun to post up from day one and track changes and thoughts along the way.

2/12/2010 - the day we rescued her.

2/15/2010 - bought the Thule 460 Podium foot pack and 3069 fit kit so we can mount the cargo box for vacation.
3/20/2010 - fit the rack and cargo box....all set for vacations.

3/4/2010 - ordered OEM door visors from Mazda of Toronto and they arrived on 3/8. These will officially be the 'first' mod.

5/1/2010 - Door visors finally installed!

3/13/2010 - subtle black license plate frame with tinted shield added (we weren't driving around with one advertising the dealer, that's for sure).

3/14/2010 - first bath at home but first I had to remove the dealer sticker.

3/13/2010 - 16" RX-8 wheels purchased for summer use. Stock Turanza's will be swapped over when they arrive. Stock wheels will be demoted to winter use and tires will be bought in the future.
3/26/2010 - Stopped at the local tire shop and had the Turanza's swapped over.....Tamz is showing some rotary love.

3/19/2010 - ordered smoked reflector overlays from M3forums
3/26/2010 - Put the overlays on, thanks Levi.

5/10/2010 - Purchased a pair of Thule 525 bike racks

5/22/2010 - Painted calipers gloss black with a G2 paint kit

6/21/2010 - Swapped stock amber front and rear turn signals for Xenonmods chrome dipped bulbs
Rear - DS chrome bulb/PS stock bulb

Front DS w/chrome bulb

Front PS w/stock bulb

9/22/2010 - Teenda 35w 4300K HID kit installed

11/13/2010 - Mounted the winter wheels

2/17/2011 - Installed V-LEDs Tundra footwell kit in the trunk

4/4/2012 - Installed CS LED Rear Bumper Lights

Thanks and I too prefer the hatch but this is her dd so I follow the first rule of marriage.

If she is happy, I am happy.

I'd say I drive it a half dozen times a week or so. I'll def. get to drive it when the gas tank is low (haha) and if we go anywhere as a fam I drive.

Yeah I seem to be honored to drive certain vehicles when the gauge gets to that area as well, lol

A little update from the weekend. Washed her up and applied some new vinyl by Jackelope and OEM visors.

Interesting.., now I know what the 2010 3i would look like with a hood scoop. The shadow looks like an old sti hood scoop.

Just got a text from Tam...Blue just experienced her first (and hopefully last) hail storm. She hasn't gone out to physically look yet but watched it bounce off the roof and hood.

Looks really good, Im thinking about getting the roof rack as well for my bike.

Thanks and the rack has come in handy. She's not a fan of driving around with it all the time but it's soooo easy to take off/put on that I don't mind.

And after checking the car over there was no hail damage...thankfully!!! Our neighbors 2010 3i had over $3k in hail damage from a separate storm!
