Upgraded K04 or T3/T4

Yes , turbo is good up to 24 psi , but i want to be safe with my engine , i don't want to be in the BOUM club . My gold was to install a reliable turbo without smoke issue .

for the price you cant beat the PG reworked. ive been running it for about a year now and i have had no problems what so ever. it pulls all the way to 6k(when i shift) and at about 18psi i made 260hp and 287tq with stock TMIC and no tune. i can personally say that the KO4 upgrade is worth the money.

thanks man, glad you like it

i made 270whp with just intake and d/p r/p on stock tune.....

numbers arent whats really important here. its rather or not upgrading the stock turbo is really worth it or not. and which option (KO4,T3/T4) are most effective.
different dynos, ambient temps, calibration, correction factors, and a butt-gillion other things affect numbers.

So with the Stage 2 kit you managed to gain another 28 whp and close to 50 wt? Not bad, but would have liked to see maybe a little more hp with a turbo upgrade. Or was that with the stage 1 kit?

He is running the stage 2 with low boost no DP, no exhaust manifold. People with full supporting mods like DP and mani and upping the boost to around 20psi (well Below this turbos efficiancy range) are making around 330 at the wheels.

What are the differences between the BNR stage 1 and the PG rework?
explains what the different stages are. The pg is just a stock k04 thats had its wheel clipped and ported and polished. Nothing really done to improve on its weak points or make it more reliable.

Yeah I noticed that he was running that no upgraded dp or mani. Used to kits coming with both :P. Definitley a lot better then stock, and seems to be pretty cost efficient for the power gains. Is this your dd or do you have another car to get through the day with? Curious to see how it would be as a dd, since I will be looking into upgraded turbos closer to the end of the year for my MS6, but will would like to keep it somewhat of a dd.
