Got a ticket today. (five-0) 61 in a 45, but he wrote me for 54 in a 45. That makes it $131 instead of $250. I went 28 years without a ticket, and now this is three in four years! Aaarrrrgggghhhhh! (protest)

haha I got my first ticket two weeks ago for going 47 in a 35 and I have been driving for two years. I just got my MS3 in december and I thought I would get a ticket as soon as i got it but my motor mount broke about 3 weeks ago and I ordered a new one from pg and as soon as i got it I was took it to my mechanic I got stopped in the hyundi he lent me.

been driving for 10 years and i've gotten 3, but ironically not in my "fastest" vehicles. got 2 in my old miata, and 1 in my old mz3. never got one on my gixxer (and i was rediculous on that thing), and god willing i haven't gotten one in my ms3 after almost 2 years of being the sole owner/operator

maybe once i finish my '63 CJ i'll get a speeding ticket in that. although to do that i'd have to be maxing out 3rd gear in a 25mph zone

It sure pays to use "Yes, sir" and "No, sir" and have your documentation ready. Doesn't hurt to have him see you unbuckle your belt to get your wallet out. I've been stopped probably twenty times and have only five speeding tickets in 42 years. My worst "no-no" was 140 in a 65. Got that knocked down to 50 in a 35.

luckily i've never gotten a speeding ticket(know idea how), but I got a freaking parking ticket the other day while I was parked for literally 4 minutes getting a bagel. Then my friend and I saw the meter maid and decided to yell "**** YOU" at him....hahaha. But it was pretty damn annoying.

this is why i enjoy watching "parking wars" on tv

what did it take for him to knock it down to that ???
"Yes, sir." "No, sir." Wearing my seat belt, pulling over safely and well off the road. Who knows, maybe a combination of things. Every ticket I get is for less than I was doing. I have to wonder what he thought when he typed in the tag number: "1FST WGN"

Where in town did you get tagged Mike?
90 west, near where the Mazda dealer used to be, coincidentally.

I've never gotten one either (also knocks on wood) but my brother got taged about 2 years ago at 65 in a school zone . . . retard.

I got stopped in a school zone earlier this year -- 31 in a 20. The deputy said, "You know the fine for that is $293 don't you?" Gulp - "No, sir." After he'd made sure I wasn't Al Qaeda, he said "Slow down and have a nice day." Whew!

What's annoying about that school zone is no one drops off kids on the road in front of the school, they all go onto the school grounds and drop 'em off. Basically, it's just another tax.

havent been caught speeding for several years (knocks wood) but i got stopped and ticketed for no front plate on new years eve...
that one pissed me off because it was obviously a DUI check.
when he lit me up i turned on my hazards and proceeded to attempt to pull to a less crowded street. at this point he turns his sirens on full blast and yells over his loud speaker "PULL THE VEHICLE OVER IMMEDIATELY!!!!!" i then stop, and get my paper work out (after shutting off the car and placing my keys on the dash), the cop comes up to me and tells me i need to stop immediately after he lights me up.
i responded by saying that i was trying to avoid causing a traffic jam by stopping in the middle of the street.
cop then says that he is going to let me off easy by not writing me up for stopping in a fire zone...
by this point i was pissed and told him he was the reason people hate cops and that he should be ashamed to wear a badge that says "to protect and serve"
he gave me the ticket for no front plate and told me to be more respectful.
i told him to go fu<k himself.
the next day he pulled me over again and tried to write me a 2nd no front plate ticket...

Have been driving for 5 years, got my first two speeding tickets in a matter of two weeks. Both were 20 over but on the second he dropped me down to 10 over. Still need to go to court on the 3rd, and maybe the judge will take pitty ans spare me 4 more points on the ol' license.

Oh and in NY they've openly said that there will be no more "buffer zone" of 5-8 over. The limit is the limit b/c they need to make $$

I think we'll find most states doing that. It was NEVER about safety, it's ALWAYS been a source of revenue.

Man, that must be an all-time record. (first) Sounds to me like you could sell freezers to Eskimos. Have you thought about a career in sales?

I've never asked for a break. I got out of a 105 in a 55 (he wrote me for 70 in a 55) by finding a mutual acquaintance and having a pleasant conversation. Usually, besides "Yes, sir." and "No, sir", I keep my mouth shut and fingers crossed.
