ok so i was reinstalling my cobb turbo inlet pipe and i broke something. on the TIP there is that small vacuum nipple that has a vacuum line running from it to some kind of solenoid i think. this "solenoid" has two vacuum lines coming from it, one to to the TIP and one to the wastegate actuator. i accidentally snapped the nipple off the the actual solenoid that runs to the TIP while i was pulling my wrench out. I have driven the car for about 200 miles since then and there is no idle problems, boost problems, or CELs. does anyone know exactly what part im talking about and if there is something catastrophic that is gonna happen?

you can see the vacuum nipple on the TIP.

you'll be fine. make sure you plug the line coming from the inlet so you dont have a vac leak and you're good to go.

Its the boost control solenoid, it controls your wastegate basically. I installed the same part this weekend and broke the opposite end, the one on the stock TIP. It supplies the vacuum for that part and will not work correctly without it on there.

I knew before opening this thread that it was the boost control solenoid nipple

that sonofabitch broke off like a stale pretzel stick! Its not like i was in a rush or mad i just grazed it and heard "SNAP"! $51 bucks for a new one isnt too awful bad i guess.

I didn't break it either, but.. I did break the nipple off the stock inlet. Not a big problem though.
