the whole reason I'm doing this is because my miata has the idle droop issue that a lot of 'em (at least the 1.8's) get. apparently, the problem can be fixed most of the time if you do plugs/wires and clean out the throttle body. occasionally you have to adjust the idle screws, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

A dirty MAF can also cause all sorts of idle problems... at least in the 8, 90% of idle problems are MAF related.

Well if we're taking off the throttle body, might as well do the MAF while we're in there.

Again, I'll need help doing this crap. I'm not very mechanically inclined.

Sean...save yourself the $6 or so as I have a can of MAF cleaner and will bring it up for you to use.

Mark...any bays open to do that auto-tranny drain/fill? Doesn't seem too hard but in all honesty I'd rather have a few people around that know more than me and can offer advice/tips.

sure, we're doing your valve cover too...make sure you pick up a gasket and some cement...oh and a can of brake cleaner!

Sweet! Got a new gasket waiting in the garage and some brake cleaner. Which cement? Last time I replaced the gasket I didn't use any? (nervous)

After this weekend I'll have four Dunlop SP Sport D8z's in a 225/55/16 with about 50% tread sitting in my shed. If anyone wants them, I'll bring them to the clean meet.

I know they were OEM on the base auto RX-8's and not sure what else they may fit but someone might be able to use them.
